It was huge because we didn't have enough good receivers especially on short, quick passes. Allen added that and it was a big boost overall.

The OL has room to improve, but they got the usual mix of stunts and blitzes that we had no answers for last year. The Chiefs got some pressure on blitzes, but it was mostly about them overloading the OL. Zion and Bozeman still had some problems, but that part of the protection was a major improvement over last year.

Have to get the pass coverage breakdowns fixed.

Jones is getting a lot of heat for breaking contain, but most of Mahomes big runs were from the lack of lane discipline from our rushers as well.
KA looked the same as he did in his prime to me. Finding the open areas on the field, sure handed, some shifty YAC. That's always been his game. Never was a burner

What’s the opposite of “Never a doubt?” That was me last night. So glad to eat crow after a victory 😅

On Hampton he's gonna be good. What I saw was a tough runner who keeps churning which I expected but the surprise was how well he did on blitz pick up. That impressed me

That is what I have been saying when people have been saying we need Haskins for pass pro.....Both Hampton and Najee excel at it

Chris Jones is gonna school EVERY OG a few plays every game. He’s Chris Jones. Zion and Boze held up well enough in pass protection to let Herbie cook. I hope someone breaks down the rush blocking and posts some example videos (aka the good bad and ugly posts of yore) - some have posted Spag sold out to stop the run, idunno - I don’t have that gift to recognize what every blocker is doing at the same time i watch the ball carrier - thats a wide angle vision gift that just a few have. I spot a linemen here or there, but not the holistic full picture on every play that great coaches and analysts seem to have a gift to see.

I did see Hampton stone a few blitzers cold - I knew from his college tape he’d be a plus-pass blocker and he showed it early.

He did the same thing on our last TD. I think some of you just think the announcers should only complement our team and its not going to happen unless its our announcers. IMO Eison did a good job and was fair both ways. To think he wasnt fair imo is homer speak.

If QJ can keep building along with Ladd and Keenan, defenses will have problems all year long against this O. Then sprinkle in some KLS and Tre, this will be a very exciting offense.
I noticed Haskins on one of the KO returns and thought - could KLS add something there? Haskins is reliable, which is why he’s there, but he’s also pedestrian in that role. No knock, just is.

We took our lumps in the 2024 season but surprisingly did "great" with the cap mess and depleted players shelf which TT and Staley had left the organization with (also looking at your direction J Jr!). Things worked out spectacularly well for us though because I really do not think that we would have landed McConkey if they still had Keenan Allen who left last year for a better offer. Again for this year, if MW had not decided to retire, we would not have signed KA.

The Chiefs must have also subscribed to the popular and very reasonable belief to contain Ladd to see what KA had left in the tank and then they paid for this. Plus what was going to be the solution? Contain KA? Ladd would have made them pay dearly! Omarion being able to pick up blitzes was HUGE for those 3rd and long completions. Not too many teams will be able to address those situations with those two in LM/KA and Hampton in the backfield. Of course the lynchpin in all this is the ability of the OL to hold. Significant drop off in a series or two when Becton had to take a break because Salyer(/) was just bad as a substitute. I am very sure that Hortiz know a lot more about that than me!

Here is a Chief fan's perspective on the Chiefs offense and offensive line:

"I don't think we looked like a playoff team last night, much less worrying about a Super Bowl.

The O-Line was not good enough. Too much pressure still, Mahomes took too many hits. Jawaan Taylor was total ass, not just the penalties. He needs to go to the bench.

Mahomes didn't look to be in a groove to me. He mostly missed by a wide margin on deep shots. He wasn't seeing things well. He hit a lot of super short shit to help make it look better than it was."

Conklin moves so much better than Diss or Fisk in routes, it really popped on the screen to me. I loved the signing when it happened, more thrilled now. That is going to throttle OG’s opportunities down as Gro/Jim like one big blocking TE.

not surprised Fisk was inactive, Diss blocks as well as he does and is just slightly better at everything. Maybe Fisk should spell Matlock - I remain unimpressed with that experiment.
