A handful of Chargers actually played really well yesterday...shoutouts to QJ, Zion, Tuli, Omarion, Dicker, and Caldwell...SO impressed with Caldwell, might already be our best interior IDL...
Not making excuses, BUT the officiating was fucking terrible yesterday, Hoculi and his crew are garbage...so many ticky tack flags in the game it's ridiculous...
The team as a whole had a pretty bad game, special teams sucked, coaching sucked, offense sucked and shockingly the defense sucked...a complete team loss IMO..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post. Could it be its not all about injuries but also trotting back the same 2 guys at IOL who struggled last year?

Roman stayed with the game plan after Alt went out. He was so obvious when OH was out of the game, Pass. Give Haskins some carries and pound the rock to wear the defense down. He’s a big bruiser
No carries for any other RBs and Herbert had 1 that was a scramble. Roman did not take advantage of that run defense.
Chargers had 13 rushes for 152 yards and averaged 11.7 yards per carry.
Giants had 42 rushes for 161 yards and averaged 3.8 yards per carry.
Giants stuck with it and won, Roman abandoned the run and lost.
the two longest runs were late in the game, so it was not a matter of "sticking with what is working" - both the run and pass were not working for most of the game. we got beat up.
Herbert had a long scramble in the first half (which you mentioned), so 4 running plays padded the stats. if we had actually had 11.7 yards per carry or anything close (evenly distributed, i am sure we would have run more. the stat line of "11.7 yards per carry" does not tell the full story.
could things have been different if we ran more? maybe, but it was not as clear as the stat line suggests.
and yes, the 18 yards of beast mode were awesome. Hampton showed he is the real deal in the last game and a half.

I honestly do not understand what Minter was trying to do. The Giants said all week that they were going to run the ball and use Darts legs. stack the box, spy Dart and bracket Nabers. Then Nabers goes down and you still can’t win.

Then when you put another RB in, they know exactly what you are doing because you never gave another carry to any other back. Herbert never had any designed runs on this bad run D. 13 carries from the whole team with a beat up OLine that couldn’t pass protect. The offensive and defensive play calling was not good. This coaching staff did not have these guys ready to play. A lot of RBs will get most of their yards on 2-3 chunk runs in a game.

however, the big runs late in the game padded our yards per carry. early in the game the runs and passes were not working. we can agree to disagree.

Ultimately the Chargers beat themselves with 14 penalties. If they play as disciplined as they did in the first 3 games, I believe they win. 1 INT was self inflicted, the Dexter Lawrence INT, he just made a hell of a play and gotta give credit where credit is due.

To the people that just simply get on a players ass and don't know how to jump off once the player has improved because goddammit QJ is a bust no matter what and Omarion is a bust after 2 games (LOL) and of course Zion is a bust after 3 subpar pass pro years but almost elite run blocking...and the Pipkins haters which many still haven't admitted that Trey with the help of Slater turned himself into a serviceable player for us, NOT A BUST...sure he's not an All-pro or even a probowl caliber guy but he's still at worse NFL average, 7 years later and he's given us almost 3 years of starts at RT...
Please try and keep up with the progress that these players are making in real time instead of just repeating the same old tired bullshit the rest of the herd or the media repeats ad nauseam...it's okay to form your own opinions based on what your eyes can see...
Zion is vastly improved in 2025 and it's not even close, Zion's finally putting the mental aspects together to go on level with his physical tools, if he continues this through the end of the season he's going to get a nice fat contract extension...
I see that many are FINALLY shutting the fuck up about QJ even though some of us here saw the signs of his growth since early 2024 when he took a noticeable leap forward in his development, too many people are late to the party on these things...Don't let Zion become the latest guy, you guys can avoid eating a hot steaming pile of crow shit later on, pay attention to how he's playing, it's not that hard to do if you just try..."The author assumes no responsibility or liability for any errors or omissions in the content of this post.
