It has become a negative place. Some may say they are just being realistic, but it is negative nonetheless. I see enough negativity in the real world on things that really matter. Don't need it from what used to be an internet refuge, a place to escape for a few minutes and put on my rose colored glasses along with others who love the same team I do. And there are one or two ongoing, continous, beat to death themes that pervade pretty much every thread or topic brought up. And while I am venting, there are a few posters, some new to us and some not so new, who just like to poke dogs with sticks. And the dogs inevetably bark when the stick pokes them. In short, the fun is being drained out of this place.
And Fleet, none of this is your fault. You did us all a favor. I will still come here, read a little, post a little. But not as much as I used to.
I just worry what Kevin Acee is going to do; seems like most of his ideas and material have their genesis in our former discussions. Now he will have to work for himself.
Oh, and one more off topic thing....Matt Wilhelm is on my local news covering the Buckeyes now. He is about what you would expect. Aces did us all a solid when he did that interview.
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

The negative all the time posters just don't make sense. If it is that dire why waste your time pulling for the Chargers. Look, we have never won a superbowl but I have plenty of good memories rooting for the Chargers. Starting in the Fouts era until today, there has been allot of good. Heck Air Coryell was a blast. The Seau years were such a treat that ended in such tragedy. The hitman was always good TV before he switched to that other team. LT, enough said.
Nothing wrong with negative posts and thoughts, criticism of the organization is called for at times. But 100%, or 98% in some cases. Give it a break.
STEVE, please come back.

OIP, you should know better.....
(Laugh) Boy, those were the good ol' days....Well, first off, my wife's boss got me the "interview," as he was an old Ohio State ("THE Ohio State) grad and a principal of a local high school... He was there, too, along with a couple of my friends,
That was one crazy week, after that interview posted. The NFL's Player Security Division came swooping down on me, temporarily taking away my season seat, and threatened me and my family with subsequent lawsuits unless I fully recanted this conversation... That is, until I told their Chief of Security that Wilhelm had also told me that same day about a fishing trip that he, my wife's boss, and two other players ended up taking part in off the coast of San Diego the day after the interview. something that NO ONE knew about or was written about in the papers or on-line. Gee, how did I know that? (grin) Especially since I NEVER go fishing, can't stand it, but I understand the draw for some people.
Well, The Head of Security for the NFL investigates this piece of news with Wilhelm and the two other OSU alums, and as a result, the league immediately re-instated my Chargers season ticket account, apologized for the inconvenience that it caused us, and considered the matter 'closed.'
Oh, by the way -- I'm no reporter, in ANY stretch of the imagination, and these players would never allow any private recordings made when discussing NFL-related topics with someone that wasn't credentialed, but I tried to take notes to remind me of what the players said. To say the least, I scribble when I write fast, so it's pretty tough to read some of the things that I write that way. I did apologize to my wife's boss for the goof about getting Wilhelm's child sex wrong. The child wasn't in the room when we talked... My scribble looked like it said "boy," but I actually wrote, "brat," because that's what he called her, in a loving manner. (The Security Chief checked THAT out, too.) Hell, I had no idea how many kids, or what sex the kids were, in any of these talks. Crap, I can hardly remember MY kids.... :-D
Funny thing... 4 months later, I had the chance to chat with Shawne Merriman, and got him to one-on-one.... He's pretty funny. I never put that one on the board, because of all the dust-up the other ones caused, but It proved one thing -- It also proved that my chats ended up cursing the players that I talked to. (laugh)
