Gameday........WUUUUFFFF........ AS always I am going to live or die with my team. I'd love to see us lay 35 on the Chiefs by the 3rd quarter.......turn this game into what no one expects. BUT, to be realistic......I fear the Chiefs will simply follow their own blueprint that I saw last week versus Texas. Stack the box with 6 or 7 guys and bring the house......That would make for a LONG day and I fear we could get Herbie killed. With "Blind Boy From Alabama" in the middle of our line, I worry that they have a long list of stunts and blitzes designed to go straight up the gut. We have the same game tape as they do and I hope and pray that we figure out SOMEthing to counter what could be a 10 sack game.
Bringing Penning in on that jumbo look was fairly successful, so I hope we can cook up looks that can help Herbie, let the O establish a running game and force KC out of 6 - 8 man fronts. Also, their O line is pretty banged up so let's do unto them what they wish to do to us. Good play and pressure from the edges, Derwin blitzes, strong play in keeping lanes filled in the middle and last but not least, spy on Mahomes to not allow him to run 6, 8, 10 yards without being touched. We have seen that TOO much over the years so we have to keep that door (semi) closed.

GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the KC Chiefs, has a sophisticated undersoil heating system installed in 2016 that uses boilers to pump hot water through pipes beneath the turf, keeping the field warm (around 50°F) and playable even in freezing temperatures, plus they offer numerous fan warming stations during cold games. This $2.2 million system, powered by large boilers, heats the sand layer under the grass, preventing ice and snow and reducing player injury risk, similar to other northern NFL stadiums. How the Field Heating Works:
Boiler System: Three large boilers heat water.
Pipe Network: The hot water flows through four-inch pipes that branch into smaller pipes, laid in a zigzag pattern under the sand.
Automatic Control: The system acts like a home thermostat, activating automatically when temperatures drop below a set point, keeping the surface at a consistent, playable temperature.
Not expecting a win under all these circumstances, but I would consider getting out of there with no additional big hits on Herbert as a morale victory.
It's cold weather bully ball time! Our best chance is heavy package and tons of running to protect Herb and prevent turnovers due to his inability to protect the football with the hand. I will take an ugly win all day!
