Of course, I didn't specify firing per se. We could make a deep run into the playoffs and then someone may take him off of our hands. It could happen. Christmas miracles and all.

You mean you want the OC who presides over the 27th ranked passing offense and 3rd ranked rushing offense this season? Sounds a lot like what got Roman fired……Originally posted by Xenos View Post
I will take Todd Monken as our new OC in a blink of an eye!Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Gregg Rosenthal speculated Steichen could get firedOriginally posted by Riverwalk View PostI think Steichen and John Harbaugh have had too much success to get fired.
My guess, the Eagles would call but if Steichen is fired as HC in Indy - Jim Harbaugh SHOULD call
I think Steichen worked with Herbert his rookie year

Much better passing concepts than Roman IMO. And Lamar has missed a chunk of the season. The other difference is what Monken did the previous seasons with a healthy Lamar.Originally posted by Heatmiser View Post

Steichen might only be a one year hire. But still. I’ll take Monken if he becomes available as well since he might be here longer.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

Monken has a bad habit of abandoning the run.
look no further than the latest game where Derek Henry was on the sidelines while Jackson was hurt. They blew a 2 score lead in the 4th quarter partly because they couldn't run the ball effectively.
the best example was against KC 2 years ago in the AFCC game. Ravens imo would be superbowl champions that year if Roman is calling the plays."The best defense is more offense."

The biggest issue with the offense is redzone conversions where it ranks 27th. And being able to run for TDs which it ranks 25th.
I am guessing Slater, Alt, Harris would have helped score a few more rushing TDs in redzone. Gadsden next year should be a bigger threat in redzone. Herbert could be a bigger threat to run it in on redzone drives.
The offense is 2nd in 1st drive of game scores.
3rd in 3rd down conversion rate.
1st in avg drive time per possession.
2nd in plays per drive.
7th in pass TDs.
11th in total yards.
If I am Harbaugh I am looking to improve the IOL and looking to be more dominate with the run game in the red zone.
They have to finish drives in redzone with more TDs.
Some of it that is personnel and some of that can be better and more creative redzone calls. But simply being more dominate and powerful in running the ball into the end zone can help. Missing Alt, Slater, Harris as well as Hampton took away some of the potential for the dominate run game. IMV.
Who has it better than us?

I think Steichen would then get a coaching offer from another team. No need to break in a competent coach with 3 years of unknown rookie losses. Just match him up with a quality DC somewhere else. If he's available sure he's first on my list for OC coordinators.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
