Herb has suffered for 6 years, its his turn to have a good OL.
This really has to be the main organizational priority this off season. Should be no debate whatsoever. They can not allow what happened to the franchise player last few years anymore.

Money Smith has been preaching this on every podcast. Nothing is more important than fixing the OL. Period.

A protected Herbert with MM calling plays gets this team closer to a SB than anything else.

Matt Bowen at ESPN put out list of where the top 50 FAs should go

      Linderbaum to the Giants
      Zion to the Raiders
      Edwards to the Chargers

I would gladly take Edwards over Zion
All kinds of armchair QBs on here last year criticizing the Chicago Bears last year, who were aggressive and spent to rebuild all 3 IOL positions (like the Chargers need to)

The spending turned a 4-13 team to 11-6, helped their young QB take a step, established a very good run game , and reduced sacks from 63 to 28.

I didn't - I was jealous. Caleb with that bad IOL was near worst in the league, with an upgraded IOL he took them to the Division round. Partly his own learning = improved play but alot was that improved OL ALLOWED him to improve.

I still think he's an average level QB talent but I ate a lil crow after I'd thrown him in the BIP bin last year.

Agree that the OL improvement helped Caleb immensely

Disagree Caleb has average talent. Apparently you missed his pass of the year in the last playoff game!

lol no, I saw it. backard football luck.

and maybe you're right, I think he needs another step to get to the top tier (which he could do). he was a 58% completion, 90 QB rating on the year. He was not as accurate as the top tier yet. He drastically cut down on sacks taken and turnovers, a solid credit to his growth (and OL). Bears won a lot of games because their defense took away turnovers and their 3rd best rush game. But their offense did produce, he was their QB - maybe I'm too hesitant to fully ack his growth.

Oh he has maturing still to do no question, but his talent is undeniable

Praised them. Their OL was crap and Ben Johnson wanted a solid OL that Detroit had. Went out and made a couple trades and a signing...or one trade and two signings lol. But they didnt wast any time.

                  Pick
                  22
                  Los Angeles Chargers
                  Colton Hood
Tennessee · CB · Sophomore (RS)

Hood is not only a good cover corner but a fierce tackler, as well. That’s the brand of football Jim Harbaugh wants to play.

                  Pick
                  23
                  Philadelphia Eagles
                  Monroe Freeling
                  Georgia · OT · Junior

The Eagles tend to fortify positions before a desperate situation develops. Freeling could be two-time first-team All-Pro OT Lane Johnson's eventual successor.

                  Pick
                  24
                  Cleveland Browns
                  (via JAC)
                  Caleb Lomu
Utah · OT · Sophomore (RS)

The Browns have too many holes on the offensive line to leave Round 1 without drafting at least one player who can help them up front.

                  Pick
                  25
                  Chicago Bears
                  Caleb Banks
                  Florida · DT · Senior

Despite missing most of the 2025 season with a foot injury, Banks reignited excitement about his potential during Senior Bowl week. He provides the Bears with the push they want to create inside.

Whit all that front liner quality players avalaible at 22, you just can't pick a CB !!!!

I would not shed a tear if we drafted CJ Allen. He is a pretty fierce sideline to sideline guy with speed and a solid head on his shoulders. He comes from a great program with a great HC AND he's only 20 years old. A great pick if we go that way.

Has anybody posted Daniel Popper's mock? He has the Chargers drafting Miami pass rusher Akheem Mesidor in the 1st round. He says the Chargers will get an additional 6th rnd comp pick. He's going to do another mock after "after the dust settles from free agency," then two more in April.

The thing I liked about Poppers mock - thanks for Posting Velo -- but what I liked about it was he nailed the positions
Edge, two OL, CB, IDL and Safety -- so for the six picks - nailed
one of the reasons I want a couple more picks would be for OT and maybe LB
