Mike Florio and Chris Simms have an in-depth discussion about McDaniel in the 2nd part of this vid (the first part is about Raheem Morris). It's really interesting, at one point Simms says getting an A+ from your players on a team that is perceived to lack toughness is not what you want. You don't want a coach who is too popular with players. Too many Dolphins players wanted to live in Miami and collect a paycheck, Simms says. McDaniel needed to have more Brian Flores no-nonsense toughness. Helps put Harbaugh's grade in perspective, maybe players are were judging Jim more on his likability than his skill as a head coach. But when you are trying to exorcise Chargering from a team, a franchise, you're not going to win popularity contests.
