    I did.

The tackles are most important for his run game, tackles that can move. He now has a dream pair...knock on wood

So @ SF there's been Trent Williams and a revolving door of scrubs.

In Miami, it was hit n miss, with Aaron Brewer, Terron Armstead + a cast of characters, .

The McD experiment continues in LA, this time with bookend elite tackles, a center, finally a center, and a clump of guards I don't even want to try and describe.

How McDaniel will build the Chargers' passing game with Herbert...don't think Tua in Miami, think the 2016 Falcons with Matt Ryan.

Keep in mind when MM was in Atlanta they had Matt Ryan under center. They didnt have a Tyreek or Waddle. They had Julio Jones who was a 4.42 guy and Roddy White who was a 4.46 guy. In 2015 when McDaniel was there, Julio dominated the targets with 203 and had 136 receptions. Roddy White has 43 receptions on 70 targets.

Their TE was Jacob Tamme. 59 receptions, nothing special about him athletically. 6'3", 236 lbs ran a 4.59...not bad for a TE and they had Austin Hooper in 2016 who is a decent TE.

So im not so sure we will be getting a sub 4.4 receiver or he is neccessarily looking for a sub 4.4 WR or thats what he wants. Thats just what he had in Miami with a QB who was a shotgun type of QB and limited with his arm and legs.

That is a very good video posted here about MM. Its a vast different contrast to what Roman was doing. Herbert is going to cook even if we do nothing at WR....but they still may do something. Scheme them open is the best thing. Matt Ryan was not as talented as Herbert.

personal opinion on McD, and O'Leary for that matter as well, is.... work w/what you've got.

it's the olde Rome wasn't built in a day.... show us what you've got.... work w/what you've got.

this roster is plenty good enough to get to a SB.... work w/what you've got, and then retool and make another run come 2028.... then you can go look for another HC gig.

ps. really don't think McD is ready for a HC job as soon as next offseason.... no McUltra will be served before his time.

                2016 Falcons is the model.
Now alll we need is Julio Jones.

We already have two in Ladd and KLS. QJ and Harris are both kind of long striders, but they aren't exactly slow either. OG is pretty fast for a TE too. We can put Mitchell in the slot too.

We don't have the speed McDaniels had in Miami, but as is pointed out in the video, Atlanta had the better O than Miami has had. .

Ladd and QJ made a lot of plays down the field last year. Hampton may not be Achane, but he is a 4.46 40 guy, and can run through tackles in a way that Achane can only dream of. Vidal is also a 4.46 guy and he can break some long runs, as well as some tackles. All of these guys were drafted by Hortiz and Harbaugh, and they have been upgrading the speed even before MM got here, and I expect that we will continue.

We aren't trying to meet some sort of invisible standard anyway. At least at this point, all of our WR can get deep. We need enough speed to make plays down the field in the passing game. Our RB have some size and power but all are good zone runners who can make explosive plays in the running game. That is what we are going for. On D, we signed Benjamin St. Juste and Donte Jackson last year, to get more speed on the field. We got Oweh via a trade. I don't think we are going to go just for speed for either O or D, but we need speed on O, D and especially ST.

MM doesn't really have an offense to speak of. There are a lot of things he has done that he likes, but a lot of that is just him and the coaches he has been around doing to get the best out of their players. He can and has been flexible. He has made a lot of very average players look very, very good, and some good players look great. Given that I think a lot of the players we have fit a lot of the various outside zone things that MM can draw on, I think we are going to have a very good O, provided we can add a couple more pieces.

Who says we can't add another weapon in this draft? I would laugh really hard if we picked up someone fairly good in the 4th round and wouldn't be surprised if we drafted one of the guys I like in the 2nd.

Roddy White retired after 2015. He didn't play on the Falcons team that went to the Super Bowl. He was on the decline for the one season McDaniel had him, in 2015.

That Falcon offense threw a lot to the running backs in 2016. Devonta Freeman caught 54 passes for 462 yards and Tevin Coleman added 31 for 421. I expect to see a lot of that with the running backs we have now.

Side note: in an absolutely shitty season for us in 2016, we came back from a 27-10 deficit to beat the Falcons, 33-30. I kept thinking of that game when the Falcons were blowing it against the Patriots in the Super Bowl.

I remember that game. Melvin Gordon had a monster game, 3 scores and a clutch 3rd down conversion to keep the game tying drive alive. Perryman had an INT and a crucial 4th down stop that put the Chargers in position to win. The much maligned Josh Lambo put it thru the uprights in OT for the win.
