Many of us, me for sure, don't care if you honor Herbert with you Elite QB Crown.
I'd be tickled to see the Chargers win a SB with Herbert their Lombardi winning QB.
The post Dmac slammed as passive aggressive towards Herbert was misinterpreted as most of them are.

My post was directed at all the posters that insisted Herbert had to have Linderbaum.

Think about it this. I was the only one saying from the outset Herbert DIDN’T need Linderbam and two guards that were the very best FA.

So in actuality, I have a higher opinion of Herbert then most. I repeated the all pro at every OL position hyperbole to mock that we had to pull out all the stops no matter what it cost for the IOL.

Ironically. Some thought that was criticizing Herbert.

I have some work to do on my delivery.

this is a "bird in the hand" center signing. i live in 49er country and the sports radio guys are talking about getting Linderbaum (sp?) in free agency and Vega in the draft. the whole league is thinking O-line.

A bit of a gamble. Agreed it leaves us with a lot of money to address other issues, but it’s a moot point if he’s injured a bunch next year.
Well hopefully they were thorough when they did his physical.

Zion was pretty bad last year. We hope he might be better next to an upgrade center and new scheme, but again it’s another uncertainty. Kinda like our new center’s health. And the uncertainties see to add up quickly.
He wasn’t bad last year though. He played pretty well actually, which is why there is all this rumor about his salary value in FA.

One would think , although his injury record is pretty clean.

Biadasz has missed 8 games during his career. He has been pretty durable and is not a Jared Gaither/Mehki Becton type guy who misses games alla time with minor stuff. I read he had a pretty serious ankle injury during Cowboy tenure and came back faster than expected and played well, too.

He injured his ankle and knee Christmas Day. No reports of surgery being performed. Team has been very quiet about his injuries and rehab since it happened.

Redskins OL kind of tanked after he went down by most of the metrics. So for Redskins fans saying he was declining, even if that is true, he was elevating the play of that OL. (BTW one of the OL experts broke down his game last year against the Broncos and he said he played better than any other center against that front in 2025.

I am sure McGwire and Hortiz are aware of his health status and if anything looks chancey, I bet they structured this so it is easy to walk away from, like Becton's deal.

Interesting bit.... It was widely reported Biadasz went to the Bears first. According to Florio, that never happened and if it had happened it would have caused some sort of tampering issue (I don't pretend to understand those rules, it is what Florio said). So Chargers were his first and only visit.

I am happy with this upgrade at center and the money it leaves to address other glaring needs. We basically traded Becton for Biadasz, money and cap wise
Florio saying it’s tampering is wrong. If that was what he said.

you can spend a lot like the Pats did with Milton, Spillane, Diggs, Carlton Davis and it works

You can be pragmatic, sign lower priced guys - it can work

You can also fail at both

With OL being such a need - Hortiz BETTER damn well be right. Granted, I think Biadasz is better than Mays and Fortner - so he didn't go to the lowest rungs of Center - Got a solid to good NFL Center
                  I get it -
We got a top 10 starting vet C.

9th ranked starting C last year. Huge improvement over Bozeman.

At a good price before free agency madness begins

Yeah but the Titans and the Raider are not. He’s going to take the biggest bag he can get. I think if Rashan Gary is released, you go for him and resign Mack. Tuli, Mack, Gary, Kennard and a Rook sounds like a good edge room.

Actually, we never said he HAD to have him. we said he DESERVED to have him. Which he does. You keep rephrasing it as we insisting he has to have all-pros at all 5 OL positions and nobody has ever said that.

your criticisms of Herbert are extensive and long running. And I’m not the only one slamming your takes, you just have a personal interest in me. I get that. I’m a catch.
