Yessir. Zion @ $17 mil/yr. Khalil @ $12 mil/yr. Before Monday. Then make a bit of a splash, Joe. Like an Olympic diving silver medalist. Your guy Hendrickson would make for a great trio at EDGE.HowellER KlareTE FarmerOG M'baDT TollisonC 4.3.26

Beyond the stats this is a solid and durable center. He is liked even more than his ranking by the offensive line community. Ex Brandon Thorn.Originally posted by Boltx View Post
Gave up almost as many pressures and more sacks than Bozeman. Hopefully I’m missing something on the stat sheet.
Most important thing is I hope he’s healthy. Probably drafting a center prospect this year?

I am reading he is not a scheme fit for new OC as TB is smaller and more mobile C and they are looking for bigger body at the position + he was injured and plenty of Wsh posters believe the injury may keep him off at the beginning of the season (ankle and knee).
We shall see.
A bit of a gamble. Agreed it leaves us with a lot of money to address other issues, but it’s a moot point if he’s injured a bunch next year.ESPN Screename: GoBolts02

Nobody knows these injuries. That’s whats weird. He didn’t have surgery. So they weren’t that severe. Nobody knows the extent of the injuries. It’s kinda an odd situation. I’ve seen that this was more of a scheme issue in that they want to go on a different path and he doesn’t fit.Originally posted by Eurobolt View Post

If Zion is 17 or under -- sign him -- if he is closer to 20m -- keep walking
if mack is around the mid teens - sign him

you can spend a lot like the Pats did with Milton, Spillane, Diggs, Carlton Davis and it works
You can be pragmatic, sign lower priced guys - it can work
You can also fail at both
With OL being such a need - Hortiz BETTER damn well be right. Granted, I think Biadasz is better than Mays and Fortner - so he didn't go to the lowest rungs of Center - Got a solid to good NFL Center
I get it -

Zion has to take a haircut. He’s simply not worth anything above 16.

Do we give that kind of money to Zion or David Edwards instead?Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post

Zion was pretty bad last year. We hope he might be better next to an upgrade center and new scheme, but again it’s another uncertainty. Kinda like our new center’s health. And the uncertainties see to add up quickly.ESPN Screename: GoBolts02

He has played in 31 of his last 34 games. I think the Chargers management is smart enough to do their homework, including a medical during his visit.Originally posted by Boltx View Post

I think the Commanders new OC is installing a new system so they wanted a more physical center and can use the cap space.

Beyond Lindenbaum and McGovern, many posters here were totally fine with Mays and even Fortner. Biadasz is better than both of those players.

You’re a tough crowd Boltx! The Chargers go from the 40th ranked C to the 11th and you’re still not happy. I love this signing because Hortiz saves money for a HUGE upgrade at C and doesn’t count against the comp formula. This gives him money to fill out the roster and continue to upgrade the IOL. Let’s not forget that they got a new OC and OLine Coach. If Devlin was still here I would still be skeptical even if they signed Linderbaum. You know Harbaugh, McD and Barry ok’d this signing.Originally posted by Boltx View Post
Well we still need 2 starting OGs but yeah, at least the OTs are good, center is serviceable now.
