IMO, it's a solid while unspectacular signing. It means that the Big Money will be spent elsewhere. The chances of re-signing Oweh just improved, IMO.

Rest assured, the signing of Biadasz tells us Hortiz isn’t going to overpay Zion or any of our other FA’s.Originally posted by Jack Burton View Post
Popper agrees.
Zion has to take a haircut. He’s simply not worth anything above 16.
Think about the next 3 years….$30M
Linderbaum, $22-25M for 3 years…..$64M-$75M….so potentially $100M total for one more year than Biadasz.
And rumor is Linderbaum wouldn’t accept Ravens offer because it all wasn’t guaranteed.
With Biadasz you draft a Center for the future. With Linderbaum, you’re locked in for better or worse.
It’s not just one year of cap savings for other players…..this is 3-4 years.
if Biadasz doesn’t work out…get another center. If Linderbaum doesn’t, you’re locked in ff’d yourself royally.

I think Zion gets more and I tihnk Khalil gets more
If Zion is 17 or under -- sign him -- if he is closer to 20m -- keep walking
if mack is around the mid teens - sign him
These would be team friendly for sure.
But somewhat thrifty, maybe late, late signings may be our norm now. Sigh of relief. We have a center.HowellER KlareTE FarmerOG M'baDT TollisonC 4.3.26

It is nice to have this crucial piece of business done before free agency even starts....at an affordable price to save more money for other signings...without even affecting the comp pick formulaOriginally posted by wu-dai clan View Post

Chef Hortiz is on it. He is going to have us in the position to take BPA going into the draft. That is how you draft contending rosters

No it’s fine, he’s definitely an upgrade.Originally posted by Boltinloudguy View Post
You’re a tough crowd Boltx! The Chargers go from the 40th ranked C to the 11th and you’re still not happy. I love this signing because Hortiz saves money for a HUGE upgrade at C and doesn’t count against the comp formula. This gives him money to fill out the roster and continue to upgrade the IOL. Let’s not forget that they got a new OC and OLine Coach. If Devlin was still here I would still be skeptical even if they signed Linderbaum. You know Harbaugh, McD and Barry ok’d this signing.
Im just a bit traumatized, the poor OL play I saw the last two years is unlike anything I’ve ever seen in my entire NFL fandom. Mostly I hope he is truly healthy because he’s a definite upgrade.

Exactly how you do itOriginally posted by CanadianBoltFan View PostChef Hortiz is on it. He is going to have us in the position to take BPA going into the draft. That is how you draft contending rosters
You build up the floor in free agency, check the boxes - to allow free agency to be about talent, focusing on need - but still talent
So if Kenyon Sediq falls - he can take him
Or if he wants to trade back to get more picks - he can do that
My list was: Center, OG, Edge x 2, IDL , TE and maybe LB or CB depth

For me, with respect to the OL and especially IOL, there is a middle ground but there truly ISN"T a middle ground -- Hortiz has to put together a top half of the league OL. He knows, Harbaugh knows, it, Dean and John know it fans know, we all know it. Not this 32nd to 23rd garbage - granted, that would be better. But top shelf

Exactly. Draft Pat Coogan to develop. Keep options open. The way OL prices are going having Tyler at 3/30 makes good sense.Originally posted by Riverwalk View Post

I would describe Bisontis, Pregnon as round 2 day one starters. Iaone, obviously, if there at #22. The stabilizing factor with signing Tyler#2 gives us options at weaponry and "bad ass" front defenders.HowellER KlareTE FarmerOG M'baDT TollisonC 4.3.26
