I like the signing. I want the Chargers to be able to take BPA in round 1 and round 2 without having to draft for need. I want to be able to take a stud who drops. Maybe it's Sadiq, maybe it's Banks, or CB, or edge, or one of the top WRs or LBs. I don't need a great player at every position listed, I just don't want to be in a position where we need to overdraft a C or G or edge just because we need someone who can start right away. That's not to say if Vega Ioane drops to 22 or Bisontis drops in the second that we shouldn't take them, I just don't want to have to draft Bisontis at 22 for fear he won't make it to the Bolts in round 2.

My criteria for crossing a position off the list is a player who I feel fairly confident will provide top 2/3 of the league play. Basically, the 21st best player at the position or higher.

I'll post my needs list that have to be filled for BPA to be an option in RDs 1 and 2. Maybe yours are different:

    1. C - Done
    2. LG
    3. RG
    4. Edge

Chargers have other holes, but it's mostly depth/rotation pieces or non-premium positions that can be filled after the draft with remaining FAs or cuts. If those 4 starting spots are filled, I'm really happy heading into the draft. I think this signing allows us to get all those done and maybe have room for 2 quality edge players signed. I don't think this would be possible with Linderbuam at $22-$25 million.

He should! He got a pay raise to join a really good team and an elite QB.

Basically gave Bectons money to Biadasz for much better performance/reliability hopefully. We need solid, we got solid.

I agree about letting the draft be the draft - of course you need to fill holes but also if talent is there, take talent

My needs are similar but would add CB, LB, IDL and OT as well
Lots of positions - not enough picks

My criteria is probably higher - top like 16 -- so many draft boards are different

This is exactly how I am looking at it. We solved our biggest hole with found money and didnt' cause a deficit at other positions. The difference between Biadasz and Linderbaum means we get to keep enough money under the cap to pay Mack or Oweh. Big win.

                  wasn't a fan of Linderbaum's pricetag, and never a fan of McGovern's intangibles ??

little bit worried 'bout his health/injury concerns, and.... sense is that we'll be ok there ??

still want to draft a center.... Iapani Lalulou in the '027 !!

half kidding, and.... means we don't have to reach for a center in the second, and can wait for the third to draft.... Brailsford.

@guard will vote for Zion/11, and Edwards/14.... $35m for the IOL.... does that work/stay in budget ??
LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

Agreed. That is an overlooked detail. The Chargers need a real solid 3rd tackle option to cover the bases. Not a turnstile like Deculus

So just from a cursory glance when watching this video note how many times this guy gets pushed or blown up into going backwards….can you find one? There’s a few stalemates vs the Raiders DT Wilkins I think..
Note the quickness out of the snap, agility and hands.

Solid, not spectacular signing, and glad not to have blown the budget at OC. Great move to take care of the glaring missing piece so now they can get on the guys they want back
