I think Elgton Jenkins has an injury history himself. I like him as a player @OG. If we could get him at a good price... he would be good depth (at the least) and could start if he stays healthy. With him... I think it will be about cost. There are some other players I like (also injury histories) that I'd take if the price were right... James Daniels, Brady Christensen, Teven Jenkins, and Ben Bartch.

I liked Alijah Vera-Tucker coming out of college... but the injury history is a concern. There is no way to predict injuries (look what happened to our RB's). And injuries to our OT's devastated our hopes this year... the best plan might be to have depth at every position you can afford. If Elgton Jenkins could be signed for backup money... then yes...

Elgton Jenkins as OG - if released, and the value is Biadasz level, or slightly less, makes sense to me. If he is getting into the Seumalo level, though Jenkins is younger, Seumalo is better so just take Seumalo.

But if you lose Zion and want the comp pick, and he is released, Jenkins makes some sense, Again, like OC, Hortiz will need to draft OG for competition.

That said, if Zion were priced correctly, he would be the best as he is young at 27, durable and did get better. But there is a price point that makes sense. What I don't think makes sense is signing two older OGs and not drafting at least one player this year. IF Poppers number is right of 68/4, probably would take Zion.

If AVT were healthy, he is probably better than Zion.

I wouldn't pay 68/4 for Zion. There are some weaknesses that won't disappear just because McD is our new offensive coordinator... won't just disappear because Bozeman is gone. I wouldn't pay more than $11m AAV for Zion.

I'm curious, what are those weaknesses? Does he have any strengths that this new system can maximize?

Ability to recognize stunts and blitzes are his weaknesses.
Strength in the new blocking system... ability to move laterally and pull/lead in the wide zone.

Cowboys released Brock Hoffman. He has played both center and guard as a backup and did pretty well. He might be a good depth piece or even a starter. He plays with a nasty edge to him. Cowboy fans called him their goon.
Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Please, Zion will not get better, let any other team take him maybe they will let him to play C xD.
We need new players at both G spots.
                Open that checkbook Mr Hortiz.

it seemed like Zion was Bozeman's "partner in failure" on the worst disasters (guys coming through unblocked). i could be wrong.

He got much better this past season. Maybe it’s because it was a contract year or because his hard work finally paid off (including spending time at Center in training camp) but I am curious to see how much he improves even further with actual better coaching/better Center.

That actually was me - when Telesco went crazy at the roulette wheel, spending like a gambling addict in free agency in 2022.

                          It was kind of fun.
