Go and get him - thats fine with me, I’m sick of the Matlock/Fisk fake FB failures too, I’ve said that for 2 seasons. but we don’t need Bud’s money to do that, thats couch cushion money.

He can’t play edge. Bring me Edge 4 to replace Bud and we can cut Bud

Not twisting things. I was happy with Oweh's acquisition and what he achieved since the trade. I am not thrilled about the 25M figure getting thrown around for contracting him.

Hortiz is not going to do that, if the figure comes in at 25 then Hortiz will pivot to draft, trade, or cut players that don't hurt the comp formula and then next year he gets a 3rd or 4rth round pick back on the 5th rounder that he invested in the trade...

The bigger win IMO is if we can extend him at our number, couldn't tell you what that number looks like, but if he gets extended you got a 1st round pedigree younger Edge player locked down for years and all for a 5th round pick...

Hortiz already won the trade but extending him for years to come would really make the Ravens look foolish on this deal...don't expect the Ravens to make any more deals with Hortiz...I know the Patriots are in no hurry to do it again either

Too early to say Hortiz won the trade if he only gets 12 games from Oweh. What if Baltimore drafts a Gadsden or a Still with the 5th pick? They know how to draft over there.

He played well for us last year but from a team building perspective giving up a magic round 5 pick for a 1/2 year rental isn't ideal

I would make the case that if we don't make the Oweh trade? I don't think we win 11 games and go to the playoffs last year...

Like F2H correctly stated, if we manage to sign Oweh up for more like a Hortiz type deal instead of these inflated numbers being thrown around by speculating sport agents (mainly just doing their jobs) we will end up with the better side of the trade as long as Oweh produces like when he joined the Chargers in our new defensive scheme. There will always be what/ifs on both sides but I tend to go with a-bird-in-the-hand proverb unless we can not keep him in here.

Yes if we keep Oweh long term we win the trade. If we had him for half a season and Baltimore drafts a good player in the 5th round we lose the trade.

That is not to say it was a move Hortiz should not have made, he did well to bring in a premium position of need. But the topic was who won the trade. Like all trades time will decide.

The main topic is actually welcoming back Khalil Mack. I think that I started dragging Oweh into this 🫢

I just hope that if they make a deal with him, he plays like he did last year with us when he was NOT playing with the house's money!

You can try to make that case. I don't think you'll succeed. I would also say making the playoffs and blowing it completely against the Patriots of all teams might have been worse than missing the playoffs. Only good thing was making it obvious to all than Roman, Devlin, Bozeman, and Becton all had to go. But I already knew that

Who wins if someone overpays him and we get a comp pick next year?

Haha new variable I never thought about! I guess that also depends on time, who is seleted with that comp pick

We can say it was a good move by Hortiz to bring in Oweh to help our defense. We just dont know the long term results of the trade itself
