My favorite Lo Neal play was late in a game, Chargers well ahead, they hand the ball to Neal and he has a break away run. He is in the clear, far down field and he slows down to hit someone chasing him.

LOL! I think we remember the same play. Lo looking for a guy to run into so he doesn't have to keep running. Too funny.Originally posted by Heatmiser View PostMy favorite Lo Neal play was late in a game, Chargers well ahead, they hand the ball to Neal and he has a break away run. you know Scott as a person?Originally posted by Factotum View PostGreat signing which doesn't bode well for Scott Matlock. I like Scott as a person and a consummate team player and although we made fun of (not in a very funny way) his prowesses on the offense, I wish him well but as far as we, the long suffering fans, are concerned, we now have a wide open 2-3 year window which means all the niceties based on nostalgia are clearly outta window.
what was so consummate about his team play?Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

I remember Harbaugh talking up matlock in the first year as a guy who did everything right in practice and gave great effort there. And he stepped up and tried to play FB. But that’s all I got.Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

I believe he was the only Charger to play all 3 phases, offense, defense, and ST’s.Originally posted by dmac_bolt View Post

He couldn't hold a role as a DL rotational backup, they tried him but he was too bad as a DT. why - did you rate him as a good DT?
His Fullback work stands on its own, I consider it bad, did you rate his FB blocking to be good?
If you rated either of those roles as good, you're a bad evaluator. If you didn't, then wtf is the "all 3 phases" bullshit about? lol. He blocked for STs, sure. big deal - I don't give a guy credit for all 3 phases if he is bad at 2 of them. but you can.
I challenged the gratuitous "he's a good guy" for fun cuz why not - does anyone here really know Scott Matlock? cmon - do you know him pretty well?Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Trying to block a guy while they're moving is hard enough. Matlock was simply too big to be doing all that in space consistently. I only wished he'd just be used as a no frills battering ram up the gut just to get free hits on defensive linemen.Originally posted by Leslie Grossman View PostMatlock gave everything he had but zero souls were snatched. Agreed, and I think some of that blame should be thrown the head coaches way.Originally posted by AK47 View Post
