Could we have not tagged and Traded Oweh?
I'd rather have the 5th round pick.
Shouldn't trade picks unless your going for SB.

      I like Hortiz just curious.

We will have a chance to get Oweh back when Washington realize they overpaid for a guy who is not an every down player and has to be schemed around to protect his weakness.

OFten teams as desperate as Washington will overpay for a guy like Oweh, good rusher who can play the run in pursuit but can only flash playing the point of attack. They end up getting super excited and it is marketed like he is truely an answer to the problems they face, and then sour on him quickly.

Besides, it is not like Washington has any true edge players. The only decent guy they have is Deatrich Wise and he is really only effective when he slides inside to be a passing down 3 technique DT. He is not fast enough to get around the corner and close on the QB. They still need a lot of help on the edge. Oweh is not an answer by himself. He is a good player as part of a rotation, but not the answer. Really no edge player is.

Maybe we could add who's also available to it.

I am quite pleased with what happened with Oweh. That 2027 3rd round comp pick is looking mighty good to me.

Oweh reminds me a lot of Antwan Barnes--great pass rusher, great pursuit rusher, but not much use against the run, and not too stout vs. a solid OT...Oweh is a one-trick pony, great in the rotation, but not an every down player...and I STILL wonder what happened to cause his sack total to be ZERO before he got traded to us...did he get in the Raven doghouse? Did they limit his snaps because he was too limited?

Trader Joe loves comp picks like that...I'm sure he'll do all he can to keep it...this may mean no big splash signings...just a few smaller splashes, along with drafting OG and heavily scouting UDFA's...

it feels like he saved his ass with a few multi-sack games for us. the ravens gave up on him and the chargers could have afforded him if they wanted to.

interestingly, the chargers paid Mack before free agency hit, then let Oweh walk.
