Defense looks much worse than last year. We just made Vick look like Aaron Rodgers for God's sake. Our run defense wasn't tested as much last week but that was pretty bad in PS. Thomas is a better NT against the pass than the run. Gilchrist is not a SS and Cox hasn't impressed me at all. NB position is worse this year. Freeney is a big liability against the run. Reyes hasn't looked as good as last year and he is also not good against the run. English looked good in PS and then became Teo's new gf once the season started. I still don't think we can consistently pressure the passer even with Freeney in there.

If our red zone play improves on both sides of the ball, and our ability to get stops on 3rd down improves, this team can challenge for a WC. So far the red zone offense, in a limited sample size, looks much improved. The D.....not so much.

The dline is the most troubling, the three starters should be looking better than they have, I have a hard time believing it's fatigue and I doubt that Pagano has screwed up the Dline schemes. The secondary may take some time, but I do think it will get better and so will the LB's when Teo is back. English is seems worthless, so again we have a 34 with weak OLB's. Freeney is a good addition, but he's not a true 34 OLB. We pretty much have Johnson and that's it.
Still, what is up with Luiget, Thomas and Reyes not looking good? Even Weddle hasn't been himself.
