It was 16-14.
Chargers defense forces punt.
Chargers offense responds with 6yds and punt.
Still 16-14
Chargers defense forces punt.
Chargers offense responds with -1yd.
Chargers special teams punt blocked.
Arizona 2yds TD. 23-14.
Chargers offense responds with interception.
Chargers defense forces punt.
Chargers offense responds with 18yds turn over on downs.
Arizona 8yds FG. 26-14.
Chargers offense 9yds turn over on downs.
Arizona kneels to win game.

The defense wasn't great but they did enough to give the offense chances to take lead and go win the game.
Arizona last two scores their offense went 10 total yards to get those 10pts. 14pts doesn't win many games. Special teams giving opponents the ball at the 2yd line makes it impossible for the defense to force a punt.

minus special teams blocked punt and turnovers (one on downs), not sure it wasn't a decent opening stanza for O'Leary and his D ??

and yeah, we can and prolly will do better, albeit hard pressed to pin the loss on O'Leary ??

my sights are set more on Boy Wonder, HC of the Offense, and his purported 30 ppg threshold.... soon come we can only hope.

Based on several transactions Hortiz has made I have never been sold on him. I said all off season that we have to earn every ounce of success this year, and year 3 is going to show us exactly where we are at with Hortiz. Even stated I wasn't too happy about the QJ extension, as a solution to our need at WR.

I took a lot of heat this summer for simply stating the obvious in regards to Hortiz. I hope we turn everything around this next game. I really do.

QJ didn't get an extension, they just picked up his 5th year option. He can still be traded.

No .. if you listen to Kelce and Schwart's explanation, the one thing that is not at fault are the offensive linemen.
From that view, with the DT lined up over Awosika ... little he could have done.

It is 100% Herbert / scheme .... same thing happened with a big sack on 1rst down in the 3rd, backing them up inside the 20 and leading to a punt.
Too many people to block and Herbert holding on to it.

Tre Harris ran the wrong route. He went inside instead of outside and you can see Herbert turn to throw but when Harris went the wrong way he had no time to do anything else and was sacked.

If fans' belief "doesn't matter", then the NFL wouldn't pay so much for hype. The Chargers' social media wouldn't exist.

Fans are starting to think he doesn't care. If I'm the owner, it's a problem. He is paid 50 million a year. You don't have to act like Rivers or any other really emotional guy. Just throw in a few "this is unacceptable", "we will get this going", "guys need to lock in" etc.... The same old "we need to execute" isn't going to play well after loss after loss.

I doubt few NFL people care much what the fans think as far as players and draft picks . They know who Herbert is. You don't know him and don't need to.
The coaches , front office care that they win. That's what the fans want.

Start listening to the fans, they will be out there in the stands with them. Casual fans have some of the worst ideas I've seen.
If we win and get to a SB you won't give a shit how he acts at the podium. But you do today because we lost.

I never agreed with letting him go, we definitely could've used him yesterday. He'll be missed this season.

After taking a day to think about it, this is where Im at: Relax.

I was gonna write an essay but im just typing this and moving on to the raiders. Yesterday wasnt bad (i mean yeah it was) it was comical. Until further notice im chalking that up to a terrible, awful, horrible, no good rotten day. I wont soon get past the 4th and goal call but the rest? Too impossibly bad to believe is real.

Rodgers and the Packers lost 38-3 to the Jameis Winston-quarterbacked Saints in the 2021 season opener. I can only imagine how this board would be right now if that happened to us yesterday. Lol.

The Packers went 13-4 that year.

This season will be telling on whether Harbaugh has lost his touch or if it's just the Chargers curse ruining another innocent bystander.

LG platoon is an odd choice. We went for it on 4th down and failed in the NE playoff game, too. It wouldn't have mattered in the grand scheme of things, but seeing some uncharacteristic stuff from Harbaugh these days.

I thought we were going to be a tough, LOS team that plays great defense, gets after the QB and can run the ball. Year 3 and we are still struggling to do all of those things. Make it make sense. Tired of the "Telesco left us poor" excuse, Denver recovered from that Russell Wilson trade + deadcap $$ in no time to build a championship roster.

The one difference between us and Denver situation is that they had invested and hit on O-line draft picks, guys stacked on top of guys, when they rebuilt after the Wilson fiasco they already had most of their O-line set to go, it kind of matters, here we are in year three of Harbaugh and the O-line is still no where near as established as the one that Payton inherited...
