As a new fan of the Chargers ive been spending time learning about the History of the Chargers going back to the very start.
Depending what way you look at it, im actually really enjoying watching some of the old footage. One in particular i thought was really good is the Chargers history 1960-2008 HD on YouTube. If anyone can recommend others feel free?
Couple of things that stood out to me. Going back to the early days African American players spoke of how welcome they were made feel by the Chargers fans and organisation compared to other teams. They had 15 in total on the team and it was like a brotherhood between everyone on the team regardless of their race or background.
The team has had some incredible players over the years such as LT, Dan Fouts, Antonio Gates, Phil Rivers to name a few.
And the fans and Stadium in San Diego had some special times. I loved those old skool stadiums that had some character in them.
I guess learning the History is more enjoyable than watching the current team playing. At least we have a break this season.
