    NFP:
Aldon Smith's year just got more troubling.

Currently on indefinite leave due to a suspicion of DUI charge that put him in a recent rehab stint, the 49ers linebacker will now face three felony weapons possession charges connected to an incident at a house party he hosted in 2012, according to a report from NBC Bay Area.

At that party, two guests were shot and Smith was stabbed.

The 49ers released a statement on Smith's recent legal issue.

"We recognize the serious nature of this situation as does Aldon and will continue to monitor it closely," the statement read.

Smith was arrested for suspicion of DUI and possession of marijuana on Sept. 20. Smith played the following Sunday in a 27-7 loss to the Colts on Sept. 22 and has yet to play since.
