There's not much you can do on that play. You either have speed or you don't. That was a straight up go route by the WR trying to burn the CB.

That's blocking, not holding. Holding happens when the guy gets past the O lineman.

That goes on every single play. Just because mathis put's both hands up trying to get a call doesn't mean it's a hold. Both his hands were inside.
