I like McCoy how is doing this, bringing in motivational speakers. Along with the weekly speech to the team from a player. Also the way McCoy addresses the team with "men" and always giving his coaches credit in speeches. The guy really seems to be building a strong psychological foundation here, along with loyalty, accountability and team unity. His OC and DC are allowed to speak to media when they win and sheltered when we lose.

We are so lucky Spanos brought in Wolfe, thereby bringing in Telesco and finally McCoy. We could have been stuck with another old, tired retread.

Marion Jones? I guess without being there its hard to say if it was beneficial or not. Does seem odd. Who's next? Lance Armstrong.

          read about this yesterday.

the players interviewed about it seemed to really enjoy it.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

I don't see how it's anything other than positive. There is a much to be learned from failure. Even more to be learned from success turned into failure.

bringing in motivational speakers and former players isn't a new thing. it's like your school bringing in somebody for a pep rally.

No one said it was new. It's still interesting, particularly in light of who was brought in.

I look at it as a good thing because it is different than the way things have been done before. That in it self makes it worth something...

how is bringing in someone to motivate the players different than the way things have been done before? especially when this isn't something that has never been done before?

it's a slow news day fluff piece during bye week.

Why you seem so outraged about it is the bigger question.

From Norv's regime, I can only recall one thing that was out of the 'normal' for motivation was the visit to the water park. I don't recall publicity regarding visits from guest speakers. In training camp, I thought it was very different to see a non-current team member (LT) give a talk to the team. You know that would not have happened with AJ and Norv around.
