    OT: Lou Reed dies

Fuck, the man was a poet. I hate to lose him.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

An artist who wasn't afraid to explore the seamier side of life, and often very poignantly. He was also a huge influence to many, many musicians throughout Rock history. Even his "throwaway" album "Metal Machine Music", basically a "fuck you" to his record company to fulfill a contract, was a precursor to the industrial genre of music. RIP to a true legend and artist.

I was just watching That Metal Show last night and it was a repeat of the one where they say they dont like Metallica and Lou Reed collaborating. Sort of weird.

        That Lulu album is awful.

But he was a great artist. The VU influenced so many of my favorite albums

Yea it was bad. Just thought it was odd they were mentioning Lou Reed the night before he died.

                    9 posts and no videos.

Only Lou Reed could make this subject matter sound poignant. RIP.

I probably shouldn't admit this publicly. I kept wondering why all this news about Lou Reed was accompanied by photos of a skinny old white man. Turns out I had Lou Reed confused with Lou Rawls. :facepalm1:

Saw Lou headline in 1974 with a then unknown Hall & Oates as opening act. He started with " Sweet Jane " and didn't strolled out on stage until after the 3 minute opening guitar solo. " White Light, White Heat ", " Heroin " , classic Rock & Roll. RIP Lou.
