He's basically been worthless the first half of the year. He sure as hell isn't making himself any money so far. Even if he does come back and play lights out, he has cost himself millions already.

He missed one game and then came back and played the next and reinjured it. What I know of groin issues is that about the only thing you can do is rest it but in his case he was cleared to play the following week. So far the change of medical staff this year hasn't led to any better results for us that what we have seen over the last couple of years.

Butler is no good to the team spending 40% of his career on the sidelines. Up to this point, I have refrained from saying whether or not we should pay him big bucks to keep him around, but now I have formed an opinion: No, we should not. Clary - yes CLARY - has been more important to this team in '13 than Butler. So has Hardwick. If anything, I'd rework both of their deals and then offer Butler what he has earned: A nice, middle-of-the-road contract, take it or leave it. If he walks, then we'll let the sucker team that threw the big bucks at him deal with his injuries.

Availability is critical in the NFL. And Clary is an ironman. Yes i bring Clary back, but I think he gets offers from other teams. 40% availability is a wasted roster spot. Butler isn't getting a big contract any more than DX is.Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.
