With training camps opening around the NFL, Robert Griffin IIIPhilip Rivers.

Behind Rivers the Chargers have three quarterbacks on the depth chart: Kellen Clemens, Mike Bercovici and Eli Jenkins

    I like it.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Why not in my opinion if he is cheap. Maybe a Whiz offense might suit him. Im not thrilled with our backups and I think Griffin has some football in him and has more experience starting.

Obviously, they'd have to offer him a contract of some kind - if they like what they see. It would be great, if he was back to form (which is rare, when 'form' men's your rookie season). It'll be interesting to see what happens.

what "form" are we talking about exactly? He was only successful as a scrambling QB (like a Mike Vick 2.0) and running threat before his injury- and that doesn't fit the Chagras offense at. all.

Yeah, but can he beat out Clemens for the backup?

If we work out RG3 why not Kapernick?

Rather have Kap. He is just a better player than RGIII. Kap may have knelt, but he also does some serious charity work and good deeds. RGIII just bangs other chicks and just had a baby with some other broad and so far wears out his welcome fast where ever he goes. Cant hurt to try and replace Clemens....he just stinks.

Better player, more durable, better than Clemons.

This is very low risk. RG3 would have to accept the vet minimum or there is no deal. He will be third on the depth chart. The Bolts can tinker around with a couple of packages and gimmick plays for him to make the game fun to watch. The Chargers QB room is strong enough (and perhaps now the coaching staff is, too) to handle a player like RG3 in practice/locker room. There is no pressure on Griffin in such a scenario and he knows at the outset what his role is and it ain't to be the starter.

The only real downside is this takes a roster spot overall, and would he be active every week and take an active spot, too? Is it worth it?
