Does every team go when they have a player being enshrined? I understand it is LT, but we have won 9 frickin games in two years. We travel a cross the country several times this year. It ain't like they won't be doing the HOF thing again in a few years. With a limited shelf life for RIvers and GATES and limited practice time as it is, I am not that upset if they focus on the here and now and get ready to EARN A FRICKIN RING!

Schefter is reporting that PR and Gates are still talking with Lynn and the team and no decision has been made one way or the other.

Yeah, because Rivers and gates really need the practice in the same scheme as last year. Come on, other guys need reps too.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Chargers' Lynn denies blocking Rivers, Gates from HOF ceremony

                The Associated Press 1h ago
Kirby Lee / USA TODAY Sports
COSTA MESA, Calif. - Los Angeles Chargers coach Anthony Lynn says he hasn't forbidden Philip Rivers or Antonio Gates from attending former teammate LaDainian Tomlinson's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame this weekend.

Lynn also didn't say Monday whether Rivers and Gates will be at the Chargers' joint practice with the Rams at StubHub Center on Saturday instead.

Rivers told the NFL Network he won't travel to Canton for the ceremony honoring Tomlinson, the Chargers' longtime star running back. Gates hasn't said where he will be.

But Lynn squashed any notion that he had ordered his two veterans to stay in camp, saying: ''I don't know where that came from.''

Lynn says they'll all make the right decision for the Chargers.

with 4/5 OL new to their position....yeah, I'd say reps with the first string QB are very important. They all matter. Nine wins in two seasons. Leadership and repetitions...focus on the NOW. The HOF is great.....after your playing days are done. If it wasn't a joint practice,or wasn't in pads I wouldn't care. These reps do matter IMO, especially for Rivers and the Oline. I would feel different if that were not the joint practice with the Rams and we were located a helluva lot closer to Canton.

Here is the real question - why doesn't the NFL move the HOF ceremony to a week before teams open up training camp to get rid of this entire issue?

They want the revenue for the game. Every penny counts I guess.

Man i must be cold hearted because i actually like the fact that Lynn is so over the top serious about his practices. I can see how most are upset about this. though. But for a team that has been so bad in recent years every minute of practice allowed by the league is gold.

Lynn seems like such a hard ass. And its music to my ears. lol

9 wins in two years...Rivers through his most picks ever. Sorry....earned what exactly? 4/5 new pieces on the line. PR needs the reps. The joint practice is important. LT knows how the guys feel about him, and they will get to do it two more times. GET 2 WORK! Win a ring a ding ding.
