He was a first-team All American in his Junior year leading the Big Ten in interceptions but his stats dropped off because they threw to the other side. The 4.6 he ran at his pro-day didn't help either. He was projected as a possible 1st rounder, and definitely a Day 2 pick after his junior year, but he dropped into the Chargers lap. A lot of people thought that the right pick in the 4th round was King, but they picked Jenkins instead.

I would have been happy with him in the 3rd. Playmaker, solid tackler, smart player. Good short area quickness but doesn't have the top end speed to be a #1 CB. I think he will be an excellent Nickel guy this year and I could see him taking over the FS spot next year. Very similar to Micah Hyde but with a bit more playmaking ability.
