Harris would be a player who could benefit a great deal from being on the PS. Has the physical tools to play, but not the technique. Yeah he got paid a lot, but in the long run, it would help him more to develop long term rather than just playing the one year and then not being able to develop much more. It will be interesting to see if he can find some way to stick around during the season and next offseason, so that he could have a real chance to develop his technique. It will just be tough since he cannot be on the PS.

i don't typically 'feel bad' for professional athletes, but Harris got a raw deal last year. He was fortunate to get a chance, but he was in no way ready. I hope he shows well in camp and lands a spot here or on someone's roster.

Will they keep 9 or 10 offensive linemen? I like Harris better than Dombrowski but he and Ohmberger both play guard and Troutman appears to be the only depth at guard right now. Doesn't look good for Harris unless they go with ten.
I think these are the favorites to make it (8):
LT-RT Max Starks
G Chad Rinehart
C Nick Hardwick
G-RT Jeromey Clary
T D.J. Fluker
LT-RT King Dunlap
G Johnnie Troutman
C David Molk
And these guys battle for the last 1-2 spots:
C Colin Baxter
G Rich Ohmberger
T-G Brandyn Dombrowski
T Mike Harris
T Nick Becton
T Randy Richards
T Steve Schilling

Baxter - C/G
Dombrowski - G/T
Schilling - G/T
Orhmberger G- C??
At the fringes I think teams typically keep more versatile OL. Not great at either position, but able to play more than one.
TGLike, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

Just an FYI, but most teams stop at the top list. 5 starters, 1 swing OT, 1 swing OG and a backup C who is an emergency OG. Occasionally they will carry one other, but not often.
Teams have to carry the versatile guys as backups. One injury means you are down to the only backup, a second injury means you potentially have to ask a TE or FB to play OL. Granted, a guy like Clary adds depth, even though he is a starter. In a pinch you could play him back out at OT and move someone off the bench to OG.Last edited by Steve; 07-02-2013, 07:31 AM.

Troutman a favorite to make the active roster? Guess we'll find out soon enough, but I could see a more versatile vet backup making the final cut instead of him in his first year of scrimmaging. Troutman can always be signed to PS for another year of "seasonings"....Fighting for Carson...and Wilmington...ity:
