But, surely, they must be concerned about the Seahawks, no? Or even the Saints? Or do they think that both teams beatable in a neutral setting? And...is anyone still concerned about Manning in cold weather?

    Inquiring minds need to know.
Last I heard they are pretty nervous. And a lot of complaining.

But I haven't heard much this week. I'm in so cal. Almost went to the game but couldn't get out of some morning commitments.

While the defense certainly played better yesterday against the Gnats, I still think a switch to a 4-3 would be very beneficial to the team. Like Fleet said we need to replace JJ at LB in that case but Te'o will be fine as a 4-3 OLB and Butler would plug right in also. If we keep him that is. Ingram looked good out there for his return but I still believe he is better suited as a 4-3 DE.

You all want to replace JJ, but who exactly are we going to replace him with? We are hardly in a position to replace one of our best players on D. He's the one that does the dirty work.

We have enough holes to worry about before we create more right now. Only so many draft picks + dead money cap hit.

Replace JJ with Wes Chandler. Problem solved.

In semi seriousness, the Chargers hopefully learned not to cut starters without first finding better starters.

Defense certainly looked better yesterday with JJ out there, and Ingram for 13 snaps.
"...of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong."

This wasn't a lesson that needed learning. When rebuilding, you cut aging/overpriced players for younger/cheaper players who might develop into solid players within the system. The Chargers did it right, and it's already starting to pay dividends. The rebuild on defense was never a 1-year project.
