      Blurbs... if known.

      Chris Simms, Bleacher Report/PFT 11 (LW 12) (Best 10, Worst 30)

They might not be headed to the postseason, but for my money, the Los Angeles Chargers are still one of the best teams in the AFC.

The fact L.A. isn't in the postseason just goes to show how close this league is. You can't afford to blow games at any point in the season, and the Chargers blew way too many of them early in the year.

Still, the future is bright for Los Angeles. I have a lot of respect for and faith in head coach Anthony Lynn. The Chargers have a lot of talent on their roster too. There isn't much this team needs to add. The Chargers found their groove late in the season, and there's a lot in place to build upon in 2018.

I loved how the Charger players said stuff like, "No one wants to see us in the playoffs." Uhh... how about the Chiefs, who destroyed you guys twice?

Still, there's some truth to that. The Chargers would be the fourth-best team on the AFC side of the playoff bracket had they qualified for the postseason. It's kind of ridiculous that the Bills qualified over them, if you think about it. The Chargers destroyed Buffalo, and they finished with the same record, so why can't common sense prevail and allow the Chargers to play in the postseason?

      ---

      Elliot Harrison, NFL.com 11 (LW 12) (Best 6, Worst 29)

I can read your thoughts right now: How can the Chargers be 11th when they didn't even make the playoffs?! But these are Power Rankings, not Power Standings. Don't know about you, but I'd much rather see my favorite team play the Titans than this group. That starts with the quarterback position, where Philip Rivers was dialing up long balls just like when you would Duct tape the barrel of your plastic bat and knock wiffle balls to kingdom come. Rivers still has it -- and the pass rush is legit. The Bolts need to go back to the well and draft more offensive linemen. Though, don't forget: Second-round pick Forrest Lamp missed the whole year.

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports 16 (LW 15) (Best 10, Worst 30)

They will again look back at all the close games they lost and wonder why they are sitting home. They would have been a dangerous playoff team. (He pushed all playoff teams to the top 12)

Adam Stites, SB Nation 14 (LW 14) (Best 9, Worst 31)

No blurb, but these are "Hope ratings" on how he perceives how fans feel about the team after the last game, and he is only putting teams in the playoffs in his top 12. #13 was the Niners...fans are gaga for Garoppolo.

        Probably no ranking ...

Opponent winning percentage: .457; fifth-easiest. The Chargers came up just short of the playoffs despite playing a relatively easy schedule. In the end, L.A. just couldn't break through against the top teams, finishing 2-5 against opponents with a winning record versus 7-2 against teams .500 or worse.

          MMQB Panel Poll 11 (LW 12 ) (Best 8, Worst 30)

If the panel had voted for the playoffs, college style:

          AFC
          1. Patriots
          2. Steelers
          3. Chiefs
          4. Jaguars
          5. Chargers
          6. Bills

          Reddit 11 (LW 13) (Best 11, Worst 28)

Week 17 was a good one on the pitch for Cal State Dominguez Hills Chargers FC. Even with the lack of directional kicking skills, the Chargers were more than able to manhandle the visiting(?) Raiders. This wasn't enough to overcome past miscues and the Chargers fail to advance for the fourth straight year. Still, there was a lot to be proud of this season as the team has a clear direction for the future. Whether or not this will translate to fanbase support remains to be seen
