    Colts sign Slauson

Colts just signed Mat Slauson. Was a good stop gap for the Bolts and seems a good guy. But glad they are not counting on him for a significant role any longer.

Agree with all the above. Good luck to him but he is wearing down

      Agreed, time to move on.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Nothing but the best respect for him. I hope he recovers from his injuries and plays well. I dont think he fit into our rebuild for the long term. We would rather build with youth and Pouncey while he has past injury history is still only 28.

        Good luck Sloss!

He stabilized what was a horrible liability for us when he came here, but that was a very low bar and his better days are behind him. I wish him well but it was time to move on. I'm excited to see how the middle of our line turns out.

I thought he would have made a good swing OG/C, but it is probably better to keep Pulley in that role.

Thanks TT. Made the middle of the OL a strength in two off seasons.

Now they need to strengthen the middle of the DL.

Im going at it with the guys on twitter than want to spend pick 17 on a RT. Im all for drafting DT or LB. Im in on James as well but i think we end up going DT or LB. I really have started to fall hard for Vander Esch. Just love the way he moves. He can play in the middle and go sideline to sideline. He has better coverage skills than Edmunds. Can play SAM. Can set an edge. And can rush the passer. His gap awareness is amazing. He seems to know where the ball is going before the snap. In zone coverage his hips are so smooth when he breaks. And hes fast as hell for a 6'4 guy. I think his versatility in a Bradley D makes him a guy that puts in 800+ snaps for us. In fact the only reason i like Edmunds more than him is his age. Hes only 19. Has a higher ceiling maybe. I dont know though i heard Vander Esch was breaking down plays in combine interviews and teams were smitten with him. I think hes a baller and i have really enjoyed watching his film. He sort of a late bloomer so he can get a lot better. And hes clearly coachable with a nice work ethic. His teammates adored him. Watch his interviews on youtube. Good fucking kid. I put kids like that on my football team all day. Just give me someone that can make the effing tackle. Im sick of seeing broken tackles from RBs. Its a pandemic for us.

If Urlacher and Archuletta had a baby it would be this guy.

Vander Esch is the guy I'm thinking most about too. Speed plus outstanding NFL size, can cover the TE, can rush the passer. 256 pounds with room to grow, tall enough that you have to throw over him. 34" arms to attack tackles with. A three down SAM to me with outstanding potential. Plus its very likely he'll be there.

And I hate to pick a NT that can turn out to be a blocking dummy just by the nature of the position.

But he went to Boise! As an Aztec, that will take a while to warm up to!
