To some degree, the lack of discipline may be Reyes and Liuget showing their frustration at the general lack of a pass rush. It's not like they do it on every play, but when it happens on running plays, we get killed. Getting Ingram back should really help, although his lack of gap control vs the Giants hurt us pretty bad too.

I want to see us play well and win these last 2 games convincingly. There is not reason they can't provided we don't make a lot of stupid mistakes. Have the D play their gaps and tackle well. Have the WR run the right routes (VB) and make sure the blockers know who to block. If we do that, I think we can beat anyone.

Not the right attitude guys. Next thing they'll spending their offseasons vacationing together!

Chargers' hatred for Raiders not personal

Chargers center Nick Hardwick found it fitting.

This is "Raider Week." A television documentary on Marty Schottenheimer, the former Chargers coach who coined the phrase, recently debuted.

"Marty hated the Raiders," Hardwick said.

Today, the Chargers still do. Sort of.

"Hate" may be too powerful a word to characterize the emotions on Murphy Canyon Road entering Sunday. That is when men whose job it is to win football games will face other men whose job it is to win football games, a general respect existing for those on the other side.

On Wednesday, the Chargers had their first practice of the week.

There was no spouting off. No over-the-top bad mouthing. Coach Mike McCoy didn't pull a Schottenheimer, whom Hardwick remembers coming onto the practice field, yelling, "It's Raider Week, men!"

Outside linebacker Melvin Ingram said that every week, the opposing team is a rival.

"We're trying to destroy everybody," Ingram said. "That's our main goal is to beat everybody. Everybody is a rivalry game to us."

The Chargers are 2-2 in the AFC West.

They've never had a losing record in the division since Philip Rivers became the starting quarterback in 2006. The team ends its regular season the next two weeks against divisional foes, Oakland and then Kansas City.

The Raiders won the first matchup 27-17 on Oct. 6. It is San Diego's only double-digit loss this year.

"Anytime you play a division team, there’s always that, if you want to call it, professional hatred," coach Mike McCoy said. "When you’re playing in the division, everyone’s goal is always to win the division first. That’s the only way you’re guaranteed to ever get into the tournament, so you have a professional hatred against every division team. I think anytime a divisional opponent comes in here, it’s a little bit different. But it’s one of 16.”

McCoy has the wrong attitude. IT'S RAIDER WEEK, and YES IT MEANS MORE.
          Prediction:
          Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.
