Gates Not Coming Back

This is the right move by the Chargers. He just isn't close to the player he once was. Still one of my all-time favorite players

It's the right move by the team. I felt sad watching him play last year, more often than not. I hope somebody convinces him to retire.

I think he has another year in him as a part timer...but I see why they made a decision it was time too. He broke the mold and many records. Absolutr great man that never complained. Played through hell with the feet issues, i hope he finds a role with the Chargers....tipping my hat to Gates

The only thing I was hoping for was the Gates could have made the announcement without the team saying anything. That way, you give him the chance to make it look like it is his decision.

I think that would’ve reflected poorly on Gates. It’s already his decision to try to keep playing which forced the Chargers to say “not with us”.

I love Mistah Gates but it was time to quit wasting plays by forcing the ball to him in the red zone, when it's not there.
