A pro bowl qb, I'll take that every year. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.

Mike Tolbert made it. I guess he had to leave SD for people to recognize he can play. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Five others were recognized as Pro Bowl alternates, including Antonio Gates (3rd), Nick Hardwick (4th), Le'ron McClain (4th), Mike Scifres (4th) and Ryan Mathews (6th).Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

He made it as a FB. He's not a FB.Originally posted by Formula Two One View PostMike Tolbert made it. I guess he had to leave SD for people to recognize he can play.
McClain made it as an alternate. He's been just so amazing as a FB this year. People have been singing his praises week after weekHashtag thepowderblues

As long as fans get a vote (or multiple votes) the Pro Bowl will remain a joke. Weddle and Liuget deserved to go last season. Neither do this season. McClain going is a joke. Gates, Hardwick, and Mathews deserved to go this season. (And obviously Rivers.) Scifres deserves to go most seasons. Oh well...Last edited by Panama; 12-28-2013, 04:05 AM.Adipose

I think playing the game in the bye week of the super bowl and the sb players skipping makes it a bit of a joke.
Sorty but Mcclain? Wtf? He has been invisible...i mean nonexistent this and last year. The voting system is stupid at this point. Unlimited votes is ridiculous and proves nothing on a players value. Just wait till a rogue group of fans figures out through internet planning they can game the voting for an idiot player like .....Jay Cutler ...to influence them right into a pb by ridiculous vote counts. I used to watch it but now its just meaningless ad not much of an honor with voting all screwed up.

While Mathews had a really good season for us there is no way I can justify him going before any of the six RB's that did get selected. Gates is a much closer call and an argument can be made for him but only getting 3 TD's while J. Thomas and Vernon Davis both having 12 TD's made the difference. Scifres going as an alternate says a lot about the respect he gets because statistically he isn't close to the top in either net yardage or total yardage, the only stat he excelled in is touchbacks. Even punts inside the 20 he was only 10th overall for punters.Originally posted by Panama View PostAs long as fans get a vote (or multiple votes) the Pro Bowl will remain a joke. For the Chargers that did not get selected or were chosen as alternates I honestly can't make a valid argument as to why they should have been in over the players that did make it (with Gates being the one possible exception).Last edited by SFW; 12-28-2013, 05:49 AM.1) Jason Verrett (CB) TCU
