He does remind me of Sean Taylor. I would also say Ed Reed, but he is bigger than Reed, so Taylor is a great comparison. We'll see if he ends up being the player Taylor was.

Like, how am I a traitor? Your team are traitors.

The future looks sky high for James and he appears to have the right demeanor and drive to maximize on it, but I guess I'll withhold any comparisons and praise until he has actually played in a few games. It will be be fun to watch him develop on the Chargers.

I agree, we have to see him play some games, but the potential is there to be one of the top three safeties in the Bolts' 58 year history.

Derwin James has potiential no doubt ... but there is no way is going to surpass legendary Charger Safeties like Marlon McCree and Kwamie Lassiter ... /sarcasm

in all honesty i can see more taylor than ed reed. I mean ed was a once in a life time coverage safety, imo he was the deion sanders of safeties.. Taylor was a sure to be haller but he was a more of a swiss army knife like james is

Good to hear, maybe I havent put a lot of attention to preseason and training camp but I didnt hear a lot of news about him this year, and I thought he was being slow to adapt to the Pro system. Given that I thought there wasnt a lot of fuzz on him.

After he picks off Mahomes in the first game against the Chiefs we'll all be singing his praises.

I read the thread title, and I honestly thought to myself "Sean Taylor?" LOL

I guess we can be hopeful.
