Is it better or worse for us that Whiz knows he has the Lions job waiting for him?

I have been thinking this might be a distraction, but it might be comforting to him knowing he doesn't have to fight for a job and that if he goes deep into the playoffs they'll still have the job waiting for him.

    What do you think?

    I don't think it's going to matter.

He's going to want to see this through. And actually, it's probably a good thing... no pressure.

I'm going to miss Whiz next year, though. I'm pretty sure.

Nothing brings out the best in a person like trying to impress your next employer.

Lions saying it's his job to lose does not mean he's got it in the bag.

If he lays an egg next weekend, he could lose his front runner position.

Better for us, the pressure is now on him to perform

Lions better not think of low balling him if they want him, but I'm resigned that the Chargers will lose him for sure. From what I understand, teams are allowed to interview wildcard assistants in this week, even though they are moving on to the divisionals. Has anyone hired a HC that was still active in the playoffs and announced it?

Has Wiz said anything publicly? He may not even want to leave if it's not a perfect opportunity. It's also Detroit. Who the fuck wants to live there?

Whiz has also been mentioned for the Tennessee job so Detroit doesn't quite have him in the bag either.

I think the longer we keep winning, they may want to hire someone else.

I was not aware his job with us was in jeopardy. If he was not in the running for HC elsewhere, his job here was secure.

I would actually think today's game might be detrimental to him being offered a job? We won...and I understand the need to protect the ball against a good defense but the conservatism today was unbearable...until of course we won!

Teams cannot offer someone who is still currently coaching in the playoffs a contract.

I at least hope the Lions brass is coming here to interview him so the time spent on this is minimal. It seems like that's the way teams are handling it these days anyway.
