I'm so sick of this Charger team, as they've cost me 14.3 units over the past two weeks. In fact, I nearly marked them down 1-3 without thinking. They stink. They have some very talented players, but they've very poorly coached and find ways to make new mistakes every week. How could they barely beat the C.J. Beathard-led 49ers? What an absolutely pathetic showing! If I were Roger Goodell, I'd strip the Chargers of their second win and force them into a 1-3 record.

The Chargers take the rare post-win dive. Head coach Anthony Lynn would probably be the first person to tell you that the Bolts didn't play well against the 49ers. Not in front of the home crowd and certainly not against C.J. Beathard, the Niners backup QB thrust into the starter's role in Jimmy Garoppolo's stead. Philip Rivers wasn't spectacular (especially on that ugly pick-six), but he connected on three touchdown passes and made a few needed throws late. The Chargers also received timely runs from both Melvin Gordon and Austin Ekeler. The defense? Really, really, misses Joey Bosa. Oh, those missed kicks, too. Let's leave this blurb on a happy note: Tyrell Williams' ridiculous catch.

They found a way against the 49ers, but they still look off on defense. They need to pick it up.

The Chargers are trying to generate enough offense with the defense missing some key pieces. This team will be different with Corey Liuget back now and Joey Bosa back later.

Guess who ProFootballFocus' top-ranked RB is? If you said Melvin Gordon, you're wrong. It's actually Austin Ekeler. Watch him next time.

Rookie snaps leader: DB Derwin James, 242 snaps out of 246 (98.4 percent). James leads all defensive backs with 3.0 sacks, the most by a DB in the first four games of a season since Roman Harper in 2011 (3.5)

Strange to see the Chargers win one of their kicker fiasco games for a change

As ugly as a win could possibly get, but a win's a win and the Chargers improve to 2-2, their best record in the first four games since 2015. Despite his mishap last week, Derwin James continues to impress. Two observations on special teams: Desmond King is the best returner this team has, and Caleb Sturgis is officially on the hot seat.

The Chargers kicking woes were on full display once again last Sunday. Their FIFTH kicker since the start of 2017 (Caleb Sturgis) missed a pair of extra points and a field goal.

Things we figured out:
King as returner.
New punter/holder.
Mike Williams is a beast.
And with Bosa out the difference-maker on D is...White? Yeah James is the obvious stud but we are a better D when White is out there covering the lanes James cannot. Would love to see Bosa lined up with those two against KC.
