    Freeney staying

SAN DIEGO – A teammate of Peyton Manning's for 10 seasons in Indianapolis, including a Super Bowl win, San Diego Chargers outside linebacker Dwight Freeney said he told his teammates not to pay attention to the quarterback's constant hand signals and gestures.

"The team has already said they'd love to have me around next year, and I'd love to be around next year," Freeney said. "So there's no reason to question that."

I suppose things could change, but this lines up with what Telesco was inferring in an interview a few weeks ago.

I don't know if age had anything to do with his injury or not but I was very against his signing.

I wanted Keiser to play over him.

But I will say, I was wrong, I wish Freeeney was available to play in these playoffs

Freeney and Ingram would be a nice rushing pair to have right now. Keiser seems to have disappeared.

Probably from being overworked. I think Freeney was showing wear and tear early but if he was available they'd probably both have fresh legs.

Still love to grab another OLB high in the draft.

I watched the replay last night of the bengals game and he was pressuring Dalton often. He had his hand on him maybe 4 times and that was all in one half. I think hes fine. Hes getting pretty good pressures. He just needs more moves. But his bullrush is pretty stout.

agree with this. I watched the replay too and he was actually providing pretty consistent pressure. He'll be a nice rotational guy next year. No reason why they shouldn't re-sign him. Tourek is not ready.

as for Freeney, I'm happy about it. He showed he's still got something left. Let's hope he can stay healthy this time. I don't see him as an every down player but he and ingram should be a nice duo on passing downs with johnson in there on early downs.

Apparently Freeney is telling his teammates about defending against Manning. From twitter:
Did Freeney just quote Friends?! @MartyCaswell : Chargers LB@dwightfreeney on Peyton "he knows that I know that he knows what I know."

While Keiser may not have gotten on the stat sheet, there were a couple of plays (one in particular that stands out) where he caused disruption at the LoS and helped pressure the QB.

And remember, Cincy had one of the best OLs in the league this year. Much better than Denver's.
