WRT to Whisenhunt, I would imagine a condition of his employment for the OC job was that he be given the opportunity to interview for HC gigs when they came up. Everyone, including us, knew that this was likely only a stopover for him.
Now I don't like him interviewing the week of a big game but I don't think that's why we decided to stick with a conservative gameplan beyond it's useful life and why we didn't get Allen involved even once before the third quarter or why Rivers displayed some yips, or why Ryan Mathews didn't play much or why our defense couldn't get a damn stop for 75% of the game.
