We let the wrong guy go. We should have cut Clary and paid Vasquez. Going forward, it looks like Clary should be on the "replace" list for the Bolts.

And some big name rookies stunk, Erick Fisher and Menelik Watson. Watson's great feet didn't overcome his lack of experience.

uh, no. I was quite happy with the OL this year. No way Vasquez would have made a huge difference for us and no way was he worth the price. Let's not forget Clary had a rookie starting next to him and some of his negative grading probably had to do with helping Fluker at times.

I'd argue Woodhead meant more to us than those 2, and I've heard TV game announcers saying he was probably the best FA signing in the NFL this year.

Vasquez was a good signing for Denver, no doubt. I just don't think we could afford to pay that kind of money to keep him. Maybe you cut Clary, but IIRC the cap hit would have been significant.

Broncos'll get a chance to evaluate their Jammer signing this weekend. He should just replace his 23 with a big, fat target.

I would think you'd have to factor salary when trying to name the best free agent signing. Woodhead should be high on that list. Bronco's paid top dollar for Vasquez.

Yep, Vasquez would have been too expensive especially if you consider the cost of keeping both him and Clary or the cap hit for cutting Clary this year.

IMO, in the past Clary's major problem that hurt us was so many false start penalities- and usually at bad times. You could pretty much count on a couple a game. That almost stopped entirely now with him at OG (and closer to the ball?), but unfortunately Porkchops picked up where Clary left off- and then some.
