The Cards have a great pass rush, but not much else on D, after they had to play the run as well. If there are nits to pick, it might have been the early D, and some poor play calls early as well. For some reason, the clock management worked in the first half, without having to spike the ball, but the huge chunk plays helped there. The scrubs got some playing time as well, and if Gordon is down, they need to know what to do. I'd like to see a progress report on Hunter Henry, but Culkin may have had the catch of his career.
Badgley is the Money Badger. Lambo missed an important kick today, so some mojo is coming back to the pk position as well. Benjamin had a pretty good game today, no stupid drops.Last edited by Bolt-O; 11-25-2018, 05:43 PM.

Nick Canepa's Chargers report card: vs. Cardinals
Nick Canepa
Union-Tribune columnist Nick Canepa issues his grades for the Chargers after their easy 45-10 victory Sunday over Arizona.
Quarterbacks: APhilip Rivers. Late to class (down 10-0 early to the CardinalsNFL record and tying another. Found Mike Williams for a touchdown, then Williams again finishing off a 28-point second quarter, then a short one to Keenan Allen. Sat out the fourth quarter, making way for Geno Smith, when it became an exhibition game.
Running backs: A
Before damaging his knee on an idiotic trick play, Melvin GordonReceivers: A
Terrific catches everywhere. Travis BenjaminAntonio GatesOffensive line: C
Horrible early. Rivers was sacked four times in the first half. Mike Pouncey had a bad holding penalty, then a big block. Better once they realized they were blocking Cardinals.
Defensive line: C
Weakened in the middle, without inactive Brandon Mebane and very inactive Corey Liuget, offside twice (one refused) on first drive, then again, then again, when mighty Cards drove for a TD. Replacements Damion Square and Darius Philon did some replacing. Joey Bosa, finally functioning, had two sacks.
Linebackers: C
An easy test in school. Uchenna Nwosu knocked down a pass in the end zone. Jatavis Brown, playing well with Denzel Perryman gone, stopped a drive.
Secondary: A-
After their first two possessions, Cards did nothing. Outstanding freshman Derwin James swatted a pass in the end zone, and then had a pick in the second quarter. Michael Davis was beaten for first TD.
Special teams: CCoaching: FNext opportunity (at Pittsburgh): D
A Sunday night game in a city where the Judases have as much success as big-wave surfers.

Coaching: F
I saw plenty of in game adjustments after being down 10-0 early. Coaching was excellent. Injuries happen. Gordons happened at the beginning of the 3rd quarter, too early to pull him yet as the score was only 25-10. we watched broncos come back the week before.
Absolutely loved Rivers today. Salty :P

The Los Angeles Chargers announced a sellout for their game against the Arizona Cardinalsin Week 12. That sounds great, right? Well, not so much. The crowd at the StubHub CenterNow, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
The Wasted Decade is done.
