I could. When was the last time a record setting offense won the Super Bowl by itself?

Answer....they don't. Not now, not ever.

Once I sat down Sunday morning and realized how fabulous Seattle's defense really was, I could sense Peyton could have a long day ahead of him.

Feels good to be right for once.

The one time that the #1 offense beat the #1 defense was the 55-10 beatdown by SF over Denver in 1990.

So which defense was better, 85 Bears or 13 Hawks?

That '85 Bears defense was just downright scary. I don't put the Hawks in that category.

Tough to compare teams almost 30 years apart IMO. That and I don't remember watching the 85 Bears play

I saw them both....a lot......Smokey might not think the Seahawks are scary, but I'll bet the Broncos do. The Bears did something incredible the year they won it all: shutting out the Giants and the Rams in the playoffs, not sure that will ever happen again

The Hawks dominated Manning, the Bears dominated Steve Grogan

^This. The rules are so slanted in favor of the offense now that make it really hard to compare. The fact that the Seahawks did it in this era is pretty damn impressive.

The Broncos burned the candle at both ends all week in NYC. And it looked like it on Sunday night. They didn't treat it as a business trip.

Seahawks is more impressive Superbowl win than the 85 Bears since the 85 Pats was a wildcard team and was the underdog for the big game. That plus most media outlets favored the storyline of how can the hawks possibly stop the greatness that is Manning when he is so close to cementing his legacy.

I would take the Bears' front 7 and the Seahawks' secondary.
