Crappy reasons to not upgrade the position IMO.

Funny thing about putting up a fence, before you hang the fence, you have to put up posts, and before you put up posts, you have to dig the post holed...

Should you find yourself without posts, you don't often continue digging post holes...

Is this one of Lorenzo Neal's motivation speeches?

Cooks is a beast, I also like Huff from Oregon, great routes, great hands, good speed, but again on the small side.

Brown has made the roster already based purely on his ability to stay healthy. Even if we bring everyone back, they aren't going to go with those other guys. Tutu is the only guy who can stay healthy, and he is not that much of a WR. Now, that doesn't mean he is going to play. If we have a better option, that guy will get the nod, although you don't always get rookies who can run routes well enough. Even Allen was running a lot of the wrong routes. He still doesn't have a good feel for when to sit down in the zones. College guys typically just run the route the way it was drawn on paper. NFL guys only use the route as a guide. They adjust every single route based on the D and the other routes the other receivers are running.

Tutu made one of the biggest catches of the year. Even if he has done nothing else the rest of his career, I disagree he's not much of a receiver.
When a player can make a big catch on the road with the season on the line against a good defense, that's worth a lot.

I just remember when he was with us before, he dropped a fair number of passes and his route running was sometimes suspect. I don't think he was horrible, he was s good prospect, but I don't think he has really gotten any better.

I don't disagree with that one catch, but what else has he done? Great ST guy and he deserves a roster spot based on that alone. But at some point he has to do more if he is going to get playing time at WR.

Tutu is a special teamer that can come in and help in a pinch. Don't see him as much more than that. There's nothing wrong with those types of players particularly when he excels on teams.

I like Tutu, but I don't see him as a difference maker. And I'd love to get another quality starter in here.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

That's pretty much how I see Tutu as well. Basically a slightly lesser version of Osgood on special teams but a better WR than Osgood. I nice player to have on the roster but I don't see him at all as being a part of the WR solution.
