Well, there was some brilliant reading comprehension on my part from your earlier post. Thank you for the emphasis. Apparently I needed it.

I have to admit that the report to which you refer does seem strange to me. If the deals are already done and he fails to make the NFL, then why do we care about him as a public any more than we would care about any other random gay guy with whom we might be acquainted?

It makes me wonder which business or businesses have sought to involve Sam in their advertising campaigns. Maybe something neutral like tires or automotive would work. I think there are some types of businesses/products where using Sam might not be a great idea. I won't elaborate, but will let people use their imagination.

It will be interesting to see how all of this turns out in terms of the endorsement deals. After the combine, I think it might be more interesting than his NFL career.

I'd guess, the companies look at him like a low-cost lottery ticket that could pay off marketing gold (similar to when Manon Rheaume went to the Hockey minor leagues), because of the perception of a barrier being broken. All they had to do was get the media to hype it... check, and then if goes bust, no big loss, because most of the public will just be like... uh oh yeah, that one guy did something that time or something.

So how did he get co-defensive mvp of the SEC?
            Prediction:
            Correct: Chargers CI fails miserably.
Fail: Team stays in San Diego until their lease runs out in 2020. (without getting new deal done by then) .
Sig Bet WIN: The Chargers will file for relocation on January 15.

Maybe because he was running around with a boner, and no one wanted to touch him

Lots of guys who turn out to be scrubs win college honors.
If he don't show more at his pro day, you think he's going to be a high pick off of some college awards?

He just turned down an invitation to the White House correspondents dinner. Probably a good move to keep his profile low. It does show how he's perceived though and why he would have an endorsement appeal if he's already being invited to the White House.

I'm coming out as the board's first openly stoned poster. Waiting on my invitation to the Cannabis Cup's correspondents dinner.

I think Mister Hoarse might have something to say about that.

Ah hell, anyone who is of the baby boomer generation is well acquainted with the herbal essences, and anyone from that generation who says they aren't are trying to blow smoke up your derrieres. One of the drawbacks of living in Japan is that it's not worth trying to get aholt of any because of the stiff penalties. So I've been 27 years without, but I still have stoner dreams, and I love when I go back home for a vacation. So for me, it's alcohol and fond memories of better "frames of mind".
