No chance he can play OLB. Freeney is pretty much glued to the line already. Can't imagine asking Abraham to even attempt to drop back into space.
That being said, I wouldn't mind if they brought him in to bookend with Freeney in the pass rush line. We would essentially be a OLB by committee at that point with English and JJ playing in the base defense, with Freeney and Abraham playing in the nickel 4 man line. It can actually work if they are fine with being part timers or if we decide to play more of predominant 4-3 look.
I will say that his asking price won't be worth using him as a part time player (He's already publicly stated he want's to be a starter). He was still awfully effective last season as a pass rusher.
There is no doubt he would make us a better team.

We already play the pass rush line more than our base D and short yardage sets combined, so you can argue we already play a predominant 43 look.
I would be fine with Abraham as a situational guy, although he does tend to play better every other year. He has always been somewhat undersized as a 43 DE, so playing for our pass rush line wouldn't hurt him as it would probably let him focus and rest more.
But I doubt he would buy into the situational rush thing.

What young players are we going to get at this point? The roster is pretty well set, minus some UDFA. Anyone with any upside is not going to be traded. If we have a hole, these guys represent the best way to fill it. And they have to know that no one is going to give them top dollar at this point.
As far as OLB, we can get by with English if he is going to play sort well. If we signed Abraham, we could still use English a lot if he plays well, and have a fallback guy if he doesn't. But wihtout another edge rushers, there is nothing to stop teams from chipping, doubling him, and just rolling away from Freeney. We can blitz like crazy, but do we want to do that with our secondary? I think they can be a good group if we can get some pressure with our front 4 and mix up our coverages, but I don't think they are going to be that great if we expose them in blitz coverages.
I like the inside pass rush, but inside guys have too many OL to get past, and it's too easy to hold them. Liuget and Reyes are both good players, but there is only so much they can do if we have a gaping hole to fill.
