    OT - The Open

Bordem threads not necessary. Golfs best Chargers fan just had a round for the ages. Glad I woke up early to see most of it. Currently he is the Leader in the clubhouse w/a 3 shot lead. He was'nt even on the first page of the ESPN TV leaderboard when I awoke.

Very nice to see Phil go off and win it.

I used to think Phil lacked intestinal fortitude prior to this win... He has folded so many times when the prize was his for the taking. But yesterday, w/the conditions, the amount of players battling for the lead, the stage itself... WOW, that was very impressive.

          Good for Phil!

I'm a big lefty fan! Couldn't have happened to a better player. On a side note I love it when a player comes from way back on the last day like that. What a huge round he had when it mattered most. Thats what I call CLUTCH!

Phil is at the top of my list as well... Phil and Nate had 'some' similarities... I think PHIL made his CLUTCH kick this weekend (Still waiting for Nates). It's not going to get tougher for Phil IMO.

I wonder however, if it was easier on him playing 3-4 holes ahead of the leaders. The clubhouse leader posted a score that the commentators thought "could" hold at +2... I don't know. Phil was really in a nothing to lose mode up until the Euros started to collaspe. Once he got even w/the leaders with minimal holes to play than the leaders, I'm sure the pucker factor entered the building.

...Done rambling, that round made my weekend. No better way to start a (non NFL) Sunday out then watching Phil win it [in that fashion]...

Phil is a guy I can root for even if it is painful at times to watch him. But he has his priorities in the right place. Can't say that about Tiger.

Loved watching that final round. That putt on 14 was the turning point. You could tell he was dialing it in going into the toughest part of the coarse.

Agreed in regards to 14. That up and down on 16, the bounce on 17. 18 was just icing. Out of his mind playing the last 5 holes.

I used to think I liked golf. But it turned out I just liked being able to drink outside and angering all the rich people who wanted me to hurry up and finish the hole.
