OT - Malaysian Plane now hijacked?

I heard some "experts" talking on CNN about such a scenario being unlikely because of the incredible difficulty and risk of doing such a thing but since this scenario is already crazy enough (if true), they're doing this for a much bigger purpose, since no one has claimed responsibility yet. Definitely sounds right out of 24.

GPS wouldn't have been turned off mid flight if it was "just" a crash and it likely would have been found if it followed it's flight path.

Turning off the ACARS system isn't a simple undertaking or mistake. Someone knew to turn it off and how. In the case of a crash, it's operational to the point of impact and no one with good intentions turns it off.

I'm worried that the pilot was pissed about their opposition leader being jailed, made a u-turn to crash it, and their military shot the plane down. They're covering something up, just don't know what yet.

I agree that the Malaysian gonernment is doing all it can to make sure a Malaysian is not blamed for this. But a plane blowing up in mid air would be picked up by US infrared spy satellites.

Yeah, after the Malaysian government had a go at it and destroyed anything incriminating. As long as the plane is never found, they can claim it was a mechanical problem.
