Never know if Bradley is a Gipson guy or Thomas. It's just that Thomas will cost more. Just think Thomas is going to be A Cowboy.Last edited by Boltjolt; 03-09-2019, 06:13 PM.

I like some on your list as well but don't think we are going FS in the first round and not sure Adderley is much above some like Rapp that we need to use a first on him. Still thinking safeties will slide in this draft. RBs too.
Ive been high on Thornhill when I started watching him 2 years ago.
For me Juan is a physically bigger/higher football IQ prospect than Mike Hughes was last year. I had him as a top 15 prospect that should transition to FS. Both have CB ballskills and excell in both man/zone schemes, possess good instincts, vision, good tacklers w/room to improve and produce TOs/big plays big games. My 2021 Adopt-A-Bolt List

I projected him to be an Impact Caliber FS with CB ballskills. He could definitely handle the CB spot especially in the slot.My 2021 Adopt-A-Bolt List

I could have seen Addae being released a little bit later. With Adrian Phillips being a FA, having Addae in waiting to take over at dime LB/S would have made sense.
You can still cut Addae a bit later to clear up cap space for rookies and injury singings, just waiting to see how much need there is among our sub packages.
It is kinder to Addae to let him go now. By making him a FA prior to the signing period, he has a chance to maximize his earning and get a job early. Guys like him can slip through the cracks if they get cut too late.
FWIW, I don't think Gipson is that slow. First, he plays better than he times, plus second, the NFL is full of S who cannot run like a CB. Plus, given he is a centerfield type player, he really needs to be better at reading the formation and releases to time his breaks. We aren't asking him to go down and cover slot WR man to man, that is what King, Phillips, and James do. He has proven with his play in Jacksonville that he is capable of playing the FS in our scheme.Last edited by Steve; 03-09-2019, 06:50 PM.

Coincidentally Gipson did pick off Mahomes last season. They lost. Ramsey covered Hill for the most part. But he had a lot of help from Gipson on deep balls. Hill put up 4 catches for 60. Gipson hurt himself in that game. Came out early but missed no time and finished the season.
Bomb to Hill and hes right there. It was a bad throw though.

There are a lot of some types of players on the market. Unfortunately for Addae, players like him. There are plenty of guys who are effective down in the box, and not have to play much man coverage. There are not many true FS who can play the single high position, or S who can matchup man to man vs slot guys and TE.

DT will wait, as always.
The biggest key to this stage of FA is that signing the big name/high priced guys is that it rarely works. Take some time and watch the FA from last year and see if they had any impact. If you do this year after year, it is finding the exceptions that do work that is difficult. The vast majority are busts.
The ones that do work out are the guys who sign lower value contracts and have something to prove. Once most players feel like they have made it, they are done. It is pretty tough for anyone at the top of the heap, who just got a contract for more money than God, to not feel like he is on top of the world. I will be glad if we don't go looking for a top FA DT.
If I was going to sign someone at any position, a 2 to 3 year deal that screams prove it. Hayward was one of those types of deals, and he has worked out nicely.
