I officially apologize. I guess I got a little giddy about how good this defense was looking. I should have known not to tempt karma.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

The D still looks very good, maybe NFL best. Others were expected to rake a step up, this shouldn't stop them. DJ will be back for the playoff run.

We need to get him healthy but we have a lot of good players to make it a strong D without. With our offense we will put teams having to score a fair amount and that helps our D out. If James can come back for the last 4 games we get a nice boost to the team to close the season and make the run....could be worse.

We are a tough team to beat and we never give up on a game. That is why we have a real shot at the division. We have good talent on the D overall. White returns, 2nd year guys get a chance to start and impact the DL. Our LBs i think are a strength this year with Davis and last years crew healthy. We are solid. Expect good things from this team.

Look, no need to act surprised. We knew what we were getting with the signing. Hopefully during his time here he at least imparts some knowledge on the young guys. He'll make a play or two there but we knew he wasn't going to be the player from 5 years ago.

They signed him to be a leader in the locker room and he has done that. More attention to detail. Getting guys to work harder. Those things take time to pay off.

The thing we knew was he is not necessarily going to be a great player. He is still learning the D and it shows. He is not making the reads like he did in Carolina, and he is showing old legs in that it sometimes looks like he has lead feet before he gets his feet moving. When Perryman comes back,

I would like to see White shift back to Will, and Perryman play Mike.

But for now, we are getting stuck in some poor matchups because of the injuries to the secondary, and that isn't going to change till we start to get some guys back. Then we can go back to the personnel groups that we have used the last couple of years, and stop matching LB vs much faster and more mobile players.

He's still our best linebacker and it's not even close.

I believe Davis leads the NFL in tackles, though I haven't seen the final stats from all games.

i thought i read somewhere that facyson lead in tackles, at least for dbs...that doesnt mean he's good. he's getting routinely beaten. You can see the beatdown in his face everytime a catch is made on him.
