Same teams again? And we play the NFC west in the regular season. Interesting.

It may give a good indication on how the team is doing, without it counting. Seattle killed the Bolts and the Donkeys in their pre-season games.

They want to minimize travel, and try and draw in some fans who might actually want to travel to the games. Not many, but try and sell some tickets.

For us, I think it is pretty good. Of those teams, only the Cowboys are not noted for being really fundamentally sound. I think it is always good to play against teams that rely on fundamentals since it forces our players to be fundamentally sound as well. Plus, Seattle, SF and AZ play similar defenses and use a lot of zone running, so if we need emergency players in the regular season, their TC castoffs are can potentially be ready a bit faster.

I would like us to win PS games, but not at the expense of player development.

I think we are a much deeper team this time around. We actually have some semblance of a 2nd team this year and will actually have a viable backup O line, at least along the left side. Our backups at O line were soooo bad last year in the preseason as they were learning a new system.

Since we play 3 of those 4 teams in the regular season, does that mean we will be extremely 'vanilla' in the preseason? I know most teams focus on fundamentals and just trying to get the players reps in the preseason and they try not to tip their hat, I get that. I don't think I remember a team scheduling 3 regular season foes in the preseason, ever. Seems very unusual to me.
